Won't be easy as they will be up for it and so will the crowd as they will be stung by recent results. That being said if we perform as we did Saturday we have a shot of a result. I have more faith in Dyche making us resilient than Lamps. But keeping their millions of forwards quiet is often the issue.

Leeds United H
Aston Villa H
Nottingham Forest A

These three games. Maybe they won't be definitive but if we do well we have a good chance. If not then we are in deep trouble as the next 4................
I agree and we need to actually perform as we have in a few big games against big team's like Arsenal and City, because these are massive games now and we haven't performed against those around us or in games we are expected to get results for most of the season. I hope Dyche is on the team because when you look at how we stepped up Saturday our home record is pathetic this season as is the record against our rivals for the drop. We news a performance like Saturday whoever we play at home.

West Ham were relegated with 40 points and 38 points hasn't been enough for a couple of teams, but in the last 28 years or so since we went to 38 game seasons only 5 times didn't get you safe (with 38 points).

20 points from 17 games is going to be a real dog-fight. A draw here and there will be useful, but Dyche is going to have to maybe get more adventurous than he's used to being and go for broke in some games to get those 20 points.
I agree but with so many in it I can see 36/37 being enough

You said he was a quality manager though.

Dyche and Howe are nobodies you said.
Seems you have not always been that critical of the spanish waiter yourself in the past which is odd considering the effort you put into finding other people who said anything positive back then. The downside of going through peoples old posts is not just that it is completely meaningless but also that it works both ways. ;)

A few of my personal favourite moomin quotes.

"Benitez was by far the most impressive in meetings"
"His work ethic is second to none and often stayed and slept at the training ground"
"He might just surprise us all"
"Benitez will do a solid job"
"I've accepted his arrival and hope he proves us all wrong and is a success"

What’s this stat I’ve heard over the last few days, something about the last 15 new managers winning their first game? Or was it being unbeaten? Can someone clarify, because I’m not sure that’s true

The first two comments are not what i said, they came from the Athletic article.

The third comment followed from me saying my expectations are set low. I should have set them lower my mistake.

Benitez will do a solid job was totally wrong on that front.

The last comment of mine is spot on, I wanted Potter but said I've accepted his arrival and hope he proves us wrong and is a success.

He never proved us wrong and was a failure, we should have went for Potter and I stand by it.

You specifically wanted him.

Whatever you say mate. lol lol lol

All unbeaten.
I’m still not sure that’s true. The last 15 must include caretaker managers, too, and I know Ferguson got beat 1-0 by Slippy before Lampard got appointed. Unsworth also got beat in his first game before Allardyce got appointed (I realise both were unbeaten in their first games during their first spells as caretaker manager, though).
