If we go with what we have at the moment we are going down. No one is convincing me this current squad is capable of staying up. There has to be additions, even if Gordon stays.

Seems so to me to and I would add others to like Patterson, Mykolenko, Tarkowski. And then we already have championship standard players like Holgate, Coleman and Godfrey.

I can never recall an Everton season seemingly come off the rails as quickly as this one seems to be headed.

I make us getting two points max from the next four games.

Which would make four points from seven games.

Pure relegation stuff.

Even in Mike Walker’s season I never felt this negative this soon.

I felt weirdly optimistic once we had signed Tarkowski early on and brought in Onana. It's been downhill since DCL's injury though.

We have no proven goal scorer.

We haven't brought in an attacking player at the level (or better) than that of Richarldison. (I don't actually think he was 'that' good but he was still our best player last season.)

Because of the above we have needlessly dropped points already.

Whilst obviously hamstrung by the lack of a forward, I still very much have my doubts over our manager.

As it stands, our first team is marginally worse than last season and look how that panned out. If we decide to go with what we've got I can't see a way out of this mess. However, still a few days of the window to go.

This thread needs to be pinned because it’s becoming more likely by the day.

We are now up to 4 winnable games without a striker and probably 1 point in total.

It’s soul destroying this afternoon watching average teams like Leeds and Newcastle playing really good stuff.. just makes me realise how bad and how far behind we are!!
newcastle is never an average team mate they are decent. but i gotta agree everton is not in that category

When as a fan base are we going to realize that if we continue to constantly sack managers after a run of defeats etc that we will never progress . Not saying that Lampard hasn’t made mistakes but at least let him have a go at it .
Well if the season goes on, and we're hovering around the relegation zone then we may have to consider our options.

Hopefully we get that striker in though, and secure a nice boring mid table finish! I desperately want Frank to be a success here, but i don't think another relegation battle is acceptable either.

I think it was @MikelsGoat who said to me a few months ago, that we can only give Frank the time we can afford to give him.

Have yet to see anyone worse than us, that is the worry for me.

Getting the feeling of inevitability this season.
Bournemouth is incredibly rubbish in attack and extremely fortunate, if you believe advanced stats. They're also the only team I would say is worse without a doubt.

The rest of the prospective relegation fodder so far includes some teams that are likely to be in the dogfight all season (Forest, Wolves), some teams that are underachieving badly to date (West Ham, Leicester) and, well, us. Chelsea, Villa, United, and Liverpool don't look quite bad enough to get sucked down into the Ty-D-Bol.

a team of

Pickford

Coady Tarkowski Mykolenko

Patterson Gana Onana Iwobi Vinagre

Maupay Calvert-Lewin

and bench of

Begovic
Coleman
Godfrey
Holgate
Garner
Doucoure
McNeil
Gray
Kudus
Brereton-Diaz

would see us maintain PL status.
