They haven’t lost at home since September and have taken points off city, liverpool etc.

Like you said though - our previously shambolic performances means we could ill afford to not win that especially as the game panned out.

It’s the villa game that really hurts though - if we’d have won that then all of a sudden it’s a great start from dyche.
They have five wins from 13 at home. They are not Real Madrid. We led twice and still blew it. I didn't expect us to win there - but the idea that a point is a good result is risible, deluded nonsense. It's par for the course when we need birdies.

I actually feel less confident after today. Apart from Johnson, Forest were really bad and offered very little and we still couldn't beat them. Brentford will be a harder game.

We hardly gain any points away from home though, so we need to take something from that. Actually if we swap the Arsenal win with the Villa loss we've kind of got the results we would sort of expected. All hinges on Brentford though as we have to be winning that game, that said on paper we would have chalked down a loss at Stamford Bridge which doesn't look so cut and dry now, so it's possible you could substitute one for the other.

But simply we have to win at Goodison for the sake of the next few games at home to get that sense we can beat teams there.

With it being away I would have definitely said beforehand a point would be okay providing we beat Brentford, however that was a poor Forest team today. Villa were also a poor side and we've come away with 1 point. Our decision making when on the attack is abysmal and usually ends up with the other team on the attack 😂

with the way the game went it feels like 2 points dropped. That said we actually put in a decent performance away from home for once. Just a shame we couldn’t get all 3 points.

You know, the way people are going on about the mighty home record of *checks notes* Nottingham Forest as the reason why a draw there is a good result, I find it bizarre that people are expecting us to defeat Brentford - a side demonstrably better than Forest.

Still for a team that’s down near us that’s a solid home record isn’t it. They obviously have a team that doesn’t lie down at home, look how they came back v city.

The frustration is that it would be seen as a decent point in any vaguely competent season - unfortunately though we just haven’t got any leeway and I agree that it’s two points dropped for us.

Being in the relegation zone having played one game more is horrendous.

Brentford. Chelsea. Spurs. Utd next. We are now in a position where we have to be targeting the home games v Brentford and spurs as must wins or it’s pretty much curtains.

There’s an ominous feeling growing that this will be the season we run out of miracles. I understand some people wanting to be positive but I have to admit I’ve lost any hope I had after villa and arsenal.

Couldn’t agree more with this - doomed

The draw, on its own merits, is a respectable result. But people are behind the curve. Respectable is not good enough any more because the way we have played all season means each game can no longer be taken purely on the merits of a normal season. We have given ourselves too much to do to be doffing the cap at Forest. We have to be breaking par now, not making it.

In my view, we had to win that today, because we're not going to United and winning or beating City and Spurs. Not beating Forest means we are going to have to start picking up unlikely points. I'd sooner be trying to do that at the City Ground than at Old Trafford.

Because the bulk of our wins come from our home games. In your world why should we have beaten Arsenal who are a demonstrably better side than Brentford?

We may arse it up but home I feel more confident than away.

It isn't all about what we do tho, take a look around all the other teams in and around us all struggling for form, none of them free scoring and none of them striking back to back wins together. It's certainly going to be close but it could be anyone from a big pool of teams let's hope we can improve bit by bit. I'll tell ya one thing us and the team can't afford to pack up and stop fighting, it's criminal of we do with so much to fight for. Forget being positive have some balls and a backbone at the bare minimum.
