We have four wins at home all season. Let's not get carried away. Of course we are more likely to win at home than away - that's the case for most sides - but the reality is we are not likely to win at all. Full stop. Each game is worth three points and we cannot go around throwing points away on the road and expect to dig ourselves out at home when we have been beaten seven times in our own stadium this season. Next week we face a side that beat us in just as huge a game at home last season. I admire your confidence. I just don't share it. This side does not earn the confidence of its supporters.Because the bulk of our wins come from our home games. In your world why should we have beaten Arsenal who are a demonstrably better side than Brentford?
We may arse it up but home I feel more confident than away.
I've just made an interesting one. I've compiled all of the home and away results his season, plus the goals, for every single team
I've called it the league table
It's the trend that matters. Right now, our season has been so poor that we need better than average results to rebalance our situation. In golfing terms, a draw at Forest is a par hole, but we need to be breaking par now and this "hole" was likely one of the better opportunities to do that. It would have had the added bonus of putting our opponent in the water had we done so.A lot of this arguing over semantics. You can't really tell if a game is/was a 'must win' or not until the season is over.
If we get relegated by 2 points, only then you can say it was those 2 dropped points at home v Villa or the 2 dropped points away to Forest.
Until then it just a matter of not being relegated until it is mathematically impossible to stay up.

The stat that truly kills us is our head-to-head with our direct rivals (Southampton, Bournemouth, Wolves, Leicester, West Ham, Leeds, and Forest).
By my calculations, we are P8 W1 D2 L5
That tells you all you need to know.
Our chances of better than average results improves significantly if Calvert Lewin returns and stays fit, but unfortunately we can't bank on that happening. It's the trend that matters. Dyche gives us a chance, but we need to start winning the odd game or two now - when the chance arises. The overall trend - particularly our results against our direct rivals - suggests we will not be able to win enough games to stay up. Draws, in our position, will not be enough. In our position, every game is a "must win" - at least in the sense that we need to start getting some wins. Given our ability - and that of our opponent today - this afternoon was a really important game and a decent chance to win. We missed that - adding to the trend.
Absolutely. I'm not saying we can't stay up - of course we can. I am saying that if you put a gun to my head to predict what would happen, my gut says we will be relegated. I felt we needed three points today to change that calculation. I told myself before the game that if we did not win, I should start to prepare for the worst. So, as far as I am concerned, barring a big upturn, I don't see us staying up. It'll be a sad day if that happens, but I can't say it is undeserved. For me, it certainly won't be unexpected. Our chances of better than average results improves significantly if Calvert Lewin returns and stays fit, but unfortunately we can't bank on that happening.
Also whether or not a game is a must win depends how the other teams around us do. It will be a topsy-turvy ride between now and the season's end.
There's a lot still to play for, although with each passing game the light at the end of the tunnel is getting dimmer and dimmer.
