9 games in, 7 points.

At our current trajectory we won't even reach 30 points.

We are definitely well in a relegation battle and there's no easy games coming up either. We are going to have to start winning against the odd half decent team because our start to the season was so crap.

Really need a win before the international break. Brighton are mixing and matching their 11 although annoying they actually have a free week before that game so will probably put their strongest 11 out.

Palace are putting out endless defensive midfielders due to injuries so to me that looks a big chance to get another Brentford type performance and win.

No matter how it's spun potentially having only 8 or 9 points after 12 games is very poor indeed. And Nov/December has all of Man. United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs and Man. City laying in wait.

That's a run of games where taking a single point off Wolves, Fulham, Sheffield United and Luton really bites.

So our entire season is “let’s hope there’s 3 worse teams, therefore we can continue to throw games away”
What happens next season when Leicester, Leeds and Southampton come back up and we have to send Harrison back to Leeds... this season needs to be a platform to ensure we aren`t there next season because we could be bang in trouble next season.

That is if we survive this season...

We look too decent to be in trouble this season, especially given how 'kin dire the tat below us are.

This thread becomes relevant again only if we get points deducted by the corrupt PL.
That and injuries….fully fit we have more than enough. Injury/ies to a centre back/DCL/out wide and it becomes a struggle.

Leicester strolling the championship as I suspected they would. Chronic negligence for them to get relegated.

They'll be stronger coming back than all of Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton combined.

Easy safety IMO.

We can get about another 40 points...not enough to save us from a points deduction but well enough to stay up.

9-10 more home wins......?

As if you're getting another 40 points in under 30 games you're going to need very strong home form.

This time last year Emery took over Villa and he added 50 points to what they had when Slippy G got sacked. They finished the season with 7 straight wins at Villa Park.

I'd love it to be a mid 40s season but that's more likely from all of Wolves, Fulham, Forest and Palace based on the season so far.

Not getting close to 40 points just winning 4-5 more home games anyway unless there's miraculous away form appearing out of nowhere.

That's the way I look at it. Experiences from the last two seasons give me very little confidence in games like West Ham away. The positivity people have all stems from performances in what are likely our easiest fixtures of the entire season, and even then we got nowhere near enough points from them. 1 point from Wolves, Fulham, Luton and Sheffield United is a really grim return.

Throw in a couple of injuries plus a DCL spell on the sidelines and we will be the team giving encouragement to the likes of Burnley.

Yep November looks absolutely grim and we look incapable of causing any kind of threat at all to the teams at the top.

7 points in mid October is absolutely pitiful. Shows you how poor we are that we've almost come to expect it.

That 1 point from those 4 games is bloody disgraceful because now when we're facing rhe likes of the rs, Arsenal, City, Newcastle, Spurs we can't say "it's a free hit".

At some point he's got to put a side out to try and at least attempt to win a game.

I meant 40 points total. My error.

We can get that. And it will put us well clear of the likes of B'mouth, Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd who I think will struggle to get 32 -33 points.

We're definitely going to need a few of those Brentford performances over the coming weeks.

Even now I still think people overrate our squad on here. Yes we've got some decent players but how many of them would actually get into a Brighton or West Ham starting XI? Very few I'd imagine and now we're needing to go and beat them in order to avoid entering the bottom 3. It's not impossible but it's a big ask.

I think we will stay up this year simply because the teams currently below us are really poor. Being slightly less crap than another three or four teams is nothing to be proud about but it keeps us in the division and hopefully, by some miracle, the club can stabilise and start moving forward in future years.

Yes that's fair. It dosen't look as daunting a tally anyway.

Personally I think it will be 36-38 point range again but I don't think Luton or Sheffield United will get more than 25 points so you're then looking at what Burnley and Bournemouth do as season goes on, neither are great as we've seen so far.

Then again Forest only had 4 points this time last year and they stayed up with a game to spare.
