I do get one or two things wrong from time to time. 🤷‍♂️

I think their league points tally massively flatters their form right now. Needed two stoppage time goals to turn it around against Brentford, struggled with Sheff U, stoppage time winner against Fulham, had to grind out a 1-0 win at home against Luton, and got absolutely battered by City. Add in bowing out of the League Cup to Newcastle’s reserves and losing in the CL. Their actual performances have been anything but impressive.

A Luton team that beat us at Goodison and led the RS going into the 97th minute? That Luton team?

If it's 12 points we will be on 2 points.

The bottom three are on 4,5 and 6 points

We would therefore need to get 5 more points over the next 26 games than Burnley, Luton and Sheffield United to stay up.

Not a problem. At all.

Decent chances for our relegation rivals to get points when the restart happens.

  • Luton15:00Crystal Palace
  • Newcastle15:00Chelsea
  • Nottm Forest15:00Brighton
  • Sheff Utd15:00Bournemouth

Worse case scenario: if we're deducted 8-10 points in the meantime we could be on 4 or 6 points and rock bottom before we play United the following day.

I think we'll beat United...they don't scare me at all. I think we can get at them.

Bournemouth msybr think thr other games still tough west ham palace brighton all tough teams to beat imo

Now 8 points ahead of Luton in 18th with a far superior GD on the current bottom four.

Barring a points deduction, relegation shouldn't even be a thought IMO.

Those 7 points from the last 9 are massive - really iffy run of games coming up until the new year.

Man Utd H, Nottingham Forest A, Newcastle H, Chelsea H, Burnley A, Spurs A, Man City H, Wolves A
Yeah that's a tough run.

I'd hope we would pick up 8/9 points , which is probably 6 more than the bottom 3 will get in the same period.

8 points from those will be a really good return!
That would give us 22 points from 20 games, which would probably mean we only need another 10 points to stay up!

Looks tough on paper, but so did our last run of fixtures up to the break with 3 aways out of 4.

Strange results can happen in December with the amount of games and rotation, so I'd be hopeful of us picking up an unexpected win somewhere. I try not to look too far ahead with Everton, because we lose when we shouldn't but can pick something up when I think we'll lose.

All that said, 8 or 9 points would probably be a decent return and would set us up reasonably well for the second half of the season.
