…is that right? I think we’d have 2 points which already leaves us 4 points off Luton

Luton are on 6 points, with minus 12 goal difference. If we get 2 more points to go level on points with them, we'll be ahead of them by virtue of a much better goal difference, and out of the relegation zone.

We were on 14 points so we’re now on 4.

We’re going at around 1.16 points per game so far (been much higher recently). If that continues, we’ll finish on around 34 points and one of Luton, Burnley or Sheffield United will do well to hit that.

Over the course of the next 26 games, we need to get the same number of points as Burnley, one more point than Sheffield United and two more points than Luton. Unless we’re hit with injuries/suspensions, I’d be disappointed if we couldn’t do that whether there was a points deduction or not the way we’ve been playing recently.

Dyce took 21 points from 18 games last season. With no striker really.

If we say mid thirties is the magic number again, which is highly likely, then we need 31 points from 26 games. Pretty confident we will do that tbh. Be it’s going to be another crap spring time for us all.

Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United are all on course for about 20 points at the moment so one of them will have to improve a lot for us to need another 30+ points to stay up.

One of them will start winning soon though when you actually look at the upcoming fixtures. Only takes a mini run of 10 points from 5 games at any stage of the season.

Sheffield United have just taken 4 points from Wolves-Brighton.

They have Bournemouth, Luton and Brentford at home and Burnley away before 2024 hits so this is a huge chance for them now.

Luton got Palace at home straight after the break so that's a game they'd have been targeting in August to win.

Going to be some atmosphere v Man. United as we're already in last ditch must win until the appeal comes through.

Haha look at the table and our goal difference compared to the other teams, also it isn't that far off starting the season again from zero in comparison to our rivals

I think any of those teams could win some games but I’d be disappointed if we couldn’t get a handful of points more than any of them over the next 26 games. There will probably be a team or two above that has a bad run too (like Leicester last season, didn’t expect that at all).

We were literally in a far worse position than this when Dyche took over from Lampard in January.

I have absolutely no fears of relegation, even now. We do however have to accept that we will never succeed again, the Premier League simply won’t allow anyone who’s not one of the “big boys” or someone who’s not state owned to disrupt anymore.

I think today’s decision will be looked back on by many, as the day we all started to fall out of love with football, not Everton but the sport itself. It’s no longer for the working class.
