When Dyche came in last January > Everton 2 points off safety with 17 to play, while looking absolutely dreadful and deserving to be 19th.

Now Everton at absolute worst are 2 points from safety in 19th with 26 games to play, while being clearly far better than the teams around us.

I'm not saying anyone worrying is being irrational but we've faced a far worse challenge than this before, and that doesn't even get into the fact that this deduction will likely be reduced to probably 6 or 8 points. We still should have no problems with relegation and should still be safe relatively early due to how poor 4 of the teams down there are.

Not bothered, playing much better than last year, and the teams below us (prior to today) are not as strong as last year's candidates.

Penalty administered. On we go.

A lifeline and huge morale boost to Luton, Sheffield United, and Burnley. One wonders if this will also make Everton fair game when it comes to refereeing and VAR decisions, however subconsciously. All it takes now are a few injuries to key men (DCL, etc.) and ONE of the three promoted sides to go on an unexpected run and we could be left dangling at the end of a rope by season's end.

Today has been disastrous, potentially ruinous. Leaving aside the injustice of lack of proportionality (not to mention the double standards of not sanctioning the Super League 6 or the dubious behaviour of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Newcastle), we could find ourselves losing a few games, getting a few injuries and having, say, Sheffield United go on a bit of a run to leave us 9 or 10 points from safety. It might not be plausible right now, but this could sprial out of control quite quickly and leave us playing under serious pressure by Christmas. If panic sets in, all bets are off. Critical we maintain our current form and garner quick points from next week on.

Well said 👍

Luton play Palace and Sheff Utd play Bournemouth - dont know what to think about fixtures any more, as we could be 4points from getting out even before our KO, could have done with those clubs playing Arsenal etc 1st lol

Not sure i buy into all this stuff that this deduction will make us fight more, it could easily go the other way and have us think whats the point - bar the 10points lol
