should be ok: the PL is 1/3rd dross this season. But the officials have it in for us...lots of red cards and penalties will be given against us...the powers that be want Everton relegated. They want Liverpool to have just the one PL team.

We'd gained 14 points from 12 games.

10 of them 14 points acquired over 12 games have now gone.

12 games which contained a very favourable run of home fixtures.

The level of confidence that we will be fine after that deduction is baffling to me.

It's another scrap IMO and we need to recruit well in January because we we are too light in key areas and injuries are a thing.
I agree we definitely need to shore up a couple positions in January in case of injury, but those stats dont paint the picture. Once we had an actual striker we played at a top-half level. We didnt win the favorable home fixtures, so instead we showed we can win the unfavorable ones. If we play at the level we have been this wont be particularly close. The main concern is an injury to DCL, or to one of our CBs without a capable replacement, as thats what could derail the team.

I think we'll just be OK, but it's going to be tight. How anyone can say we've got absolutely nothing to worry about is beyond me.

We've shown some good progress in the last 6 weeks but it wouldn't take much to knock us off course - and that's not factoring in any impact from this decision.

Dyche has his work cut out once again, but I have confidence he'll keep us fighting together.

I don’t see how this points deduction doesn’t galvanise the players. It’s just Human psychology, feeling aggrieved, us against them - it should put them right up for a fight. Alex Ferguson cultivates that mindset during his decades of success and Man Utd.

I think we’ll be fine as long as we don’t get unfortunate injuries that could throw a spanner in the works. There’s clearly at least 3 or 4 clubs that are worse than Everton in the league this season.

Those favourable home games were indeed lost, and we don't get them again is the point.

And like I've said for years - a fit Calvert-Lewin is a massive difference but we can't rely on him to stay fit.

Any injury to Calvert-Lewin, Tarkowski or Branthwaite and our struggles increase big time.

People are looking at the last 5 weeks - me I'm looking at the last 3 years.

Our run of games until the new year are massive.

Absolutely. As good as we’ve been the last few weeks, we are still the same side who got zero home points from Fulham, Wolves and Luton, and still the same side that stayed up by the skin of our teeth in the last two seasons.

My thoughts exactly, an injury to Tarkowski or Branthwaite and the clown is back in and we will need to score 2 goals in every game just to get a point
