It will be interesting to gauge the mentality of the players in the coming fixtures. Will they be ready to fight the world or feel sorry for themselves. Given the amount of uncertainty swirling around with points deductions, outstanding appeals, possible takeover, possible no takeover followed by administration it must have an impact mentally one way or the other

Think they will be fired up and see what this has done to the fans . The support is going to be crazy now all of us 100% behind the team the board troubles behind us now.

What have they got to feel sorry for themselves about?

And they are professional players, they just need to play the games in front of them.

The points deduction has been coming for a few weeks, I'm sure a few of the players read the -12 story on the back page a few weeks ago and the results picked up, co-incidence? I think not.

Dyche was also constantly written off at Burnley and derided for style of play, not signing many foreign players etc and it didn't bother him one bit.

He thrives on backs to the wall situations. Issue now is to try to get the home form going as won't keep winning on the road so need to balance that up sooner or later.

Teams at the bottom around us have winnable fixtures this weekend imo. Given our fixtures it’s going to be painful until the New Year.

Here is a snippet from Sky Sports

Taking 35 or more points in the last 11 seasons gives teams a 98-per-cent chance of survival - only four teams during that period have been relegated after reaching or exceeding that tally. Burnley, in 2021/22, are the only team to have done so in the last seven seasons.

Which would mean that we need to have our sights on 45 points (35 after deduction).

Might not need that many but feels like it is not a done deal by any stretch.

Back to the football while the circus goes on alongside. Back to looking at the bottom side results rather than mid table ones.

Burnley, Luton, Sheff Utd and Forest all at home. Sheff Utd hosting Bournemouth. Fulham at home on Monday. Let’s hope the crap teams are crap.

Anyone doing aways on the coupon !!

The Sheff Utd game is a bit dodgy, that game i can see every outcome. We off course could do with Palace/West Ham winning to name 2. Forest seem to be getting to far away now to be considered for the few at the bottom, though i did think they where in it when some said they werent, as they were only a few points away at the time some said they are not getting relegated etc

Awoniyi long term injury for Forest is a blow for them

No Bowen for West Ham today.

It's a bit sod's law but I'd be pretty surprised if at least one of the promoted teams dosen't win today. All at home and two of them will have been circling today's fixtures in August as must wins.
