Because to get 40 points we need to have secured 50.

Virtually no chance we need 40 points this season. The bottom 3 are all averaging under 0.6 ppg. Even if they increased that to 0.8ppg that only gets you to 30 or 31 points.

The bottom 3 would need to average 1 and a half points a game for the rest of the season to go to 40 points. That is the sort of form that sustained gets you a shot at Europe

In the last two seasons, the weakest teams have been far better than this season. And we survived on under 40 in both those seasons.

Fair points and I would thought the same up until our recent run. I think we always seem to find a way, our strikers don’t even score that much and the variance is unpredictable but also mixed. In short I think we’ve improved even from early season.

I think we are a really powerful and athletic team and I think that’s difficult to hold, in many of our matches that’s made the difference. The core seems better , I can’t remember the last goal scored on the counter like a Wolves and Fulham -Brighton I think. Teams find it really hard to handle us and win the battle individually or as a collective.

I think Forrest and WHU tried to give us the ball and asked us to break them down and we did. I think we have to sign post improve,ent when we see it I think we have improved - we will be tested as you say in the next 7.

I don’t think we’ve had a fit squad for mi the now mate, nearly everyone’s been injured and out o&the team at some point except JT - it doesn’t seem to but, today is an example, we were on a boney backside squad wise today.

Don’t get me wrong we have challenges ahead, but I think looking at it the way we are thinking some fixtures will be tough - I think other teams are looking at us and thinking that’s we’re tough fixture now - hasn’t been like that in years.

My overall concern is fans and player thinking this is done. It is not. Not by a long chalk.

We've made strides this season but Ive seen this Everton team as you have completely lose their way and spiral out of control.

Its like some people have forgotten what a spineless bunch off turds these players can and have been in the past.

That's what we have to aim for and get though. We don't want to wait until the 37th and 38th game to be safe.

Of course not. But the aim now is to maintain the gap we have built up or even better, to increase it. It's not about getting to 40 points or some other number.

More work to be done, but this run has been hugely important

Hopefully we get some of those points back and we can start looking up instead of down

Until then though we aren’t out of this yet, but positive steps have been taken

Was only thinking that earlier mate. The change in chattier, mentality, performence level chession and team work. You are right we’ve been awful on these metrics in the past.

I think your right and fair points overall, i also think we’ve a big job or work to do to and we can’t let up, but I think it’s also important to acknowledge the change and improvement of - this team and I think we can be very proud of them this season so far.

I think we all know the job isn't quite done yet (it's not done until it's done), but Christ, let us enjoy the wins and current form. When in the last 3 seasons or so have we had the opportunity to celebrate the team for a run of games like this?

Now imagine we somehow make it to Wembley for the league Cup final...that would be something especially this season...the singing will be off the scale. Our away supporters are getting louder and louder....a giant is slowly but surely waking up.
