I feel like the more points Everton gets the more likely the deduction will be reduced because it won't matter. Because they set a precedent with the 10 point reduction that would need to be the foundation for any penalty to Chelsea or Man City. And given the likely violations those two teams committed, the reduction would need to be multiples of 10 which they will never actually do.

Because that would be crazy.

We're certainly not favourites, but I don't think this team fears anyone. They are still without Maddison so they aren't as good as they have shown in the early part of the season, although Richarlison has started scoring now.

I think we have the ability and the game plan to get something if they are even slightly off their game.

Honestly think they're going to treble whammy us: 1. Hindered our transfer strategy and ability for two years already. 2. Gave us a ridiculous 10 point deduction that only may be reduced. 3. Can hit us with a full transfer ban which would be so much worse than a 10 point deduction this season now.

Really hoping not. 5 point deduction seems fair enough.

@coollino it appears Luton really are this season’s best team in the universe of all time (Leeds) and are about to embark on Champions League form any minute now to ensure we will need 40 points to stay up (captain is on the verge of retirement after suffering second cardiac arrest in 6 months) which we clearly won’t get because we’re about to get loads of injuries (every single player in the squad bar Tarkowski and Pickford has missed at least one game through injury so far)

We’re a win and a draw away from accumulating 30 points this season.

Based on their form so far, none of the bottom 3 will achieve 30 points this season. Even Forest look like they might struggle to get much more than that.

There's still along way to go and a lot can change in that time, but even with our 10 point deduction, I can’t see the bottom 4 changing come the end of the season.

That’s why I want us to withdraw our appeal.

It would suit us better in the long run to have two of the Sly 6 taken out of the reckoning altogether.

VERY GOOD HOME FORMS

We aint getting relegated. Even if all of a sudden we reverted to last season’s form and averaged the same point per game we end up on 36 points (same as last year). The minimum PPG average the current third from bottom team needs to reach that total is 1.68 points - they are currently on a PPG average of 0.56….there would have to a double swing of epic proportions. It ain’t happening. We are safe, it’s just a matter of how far up the table we can get.

We are not doing that, and there is no reason why we should do that no matter how high or how far away we are from the bottom 3. It was just a full out wrong decision to give 10 point deduction. We have in effect been triple punished - Losing points, Losing what money we will lose from losing places, and others getting the chance to sue, or whatever happens from them

….my 20 points at Christmas benchmark would’ve been obliterated to a level that sees us challenging for Europe. Magnificent.

Winning the mini league (finishing above Luton, Burnley & Sheff Utd) remains the challenge but in just a few weeks we’re already 7 points clear of those clubs. That quite a gap for teams in single figures after 16 or 17 games.

There’ll be plenty of ups and downs but it’s great that we’re getting into the group of clubs above us.
