Now a new week starts and the fear builds towards next weekend
Actually not too bad this week as we expect to lose to Arsenal

Think we're in better shape (on paper at least) compared to last season when you also factor in that the bottom 3 is going to be less 'competitive' this time. Cautiously optimistic that we'll go on to do enough this season to keep our necks just above again.

Can Fraud take advantage of that 'better shape' though?

…..daughter booked a holiday for next May and asked us to go with them, we travel back on the final day of the season. I think I’d give up if we needed something from Arsenal. Sad times.

So, so lucky that all of Burnley, Luton, Sheffield United and Wolves are in the division this season. All absolutely appalling teams.

I think Forest have spent their way of of danger, so fair play to them, even though their owner is dodgy as you like. Could still tail off after a decent start, it's only 4 games after all.

Bournemouth and Fulham may be dragged into the mix as well, so there will be more competition than usual for the bottom three spots.

We might as well fold if this current squad of ours cannot finish above three of those sides.

We've not been able to field anywhere near a first choice xi yet this season, while every other club has had most of their signings bedded in several months and hasn't needed to play midfielders up front and defensive midfielders on the wings, etc.

I think we'll be alright, as long as we don't suffer our yearly injury crisis later on again in the season.

Pickford, Onana, Garner, Beto, DCL, McNeil, Harrison, Branthwaite, Tarkowski. They walk into most of those sides.

I think we will avoid relegation by virtue of the parlous quality constituting the lower two thirds of the so-called 'Premier League'. And that summation is the best that can be said for Everton: a disgracefully mismanaged team for over a generation.

There is some dross is this division. Real bad cack. And some decent squads playing terribly. It will only take a fairly small upturn in our ability to kick the ball into open goals and cut just a few of the easy transition goals we give away to be safe, as bad as we are. Same for everyone, but I do think we are surprisingly not in the worst shape.

I don`t see us getting a point in the next 2... Game v Luton will be absolutely massive. Luton, Sheff Utd and Burnley is our immediate competition, this is where this club is at right now. Big club my arse!

Possibly / probably.

But we'll score goals with our new attacking options. If we score 45 goals this season we'll stay up. I think that's in this squad.
