No one knows what's going to happen mate.

Doomsday posts from people with no idea what the owner will/will not do because they read our accounts or follow a fan shareholder on twitter.

Everyone was convinced we had broken FFP then we pulled some outrageous stunt offsetting multi millions to COVID and got off da hook.

Lets wait and see before pissing our kecks.
Look, we won't go bust.

But it won't be pretty.

Chelsea game probably decides our faith...if we win, then its very much in our own hands and we should be able to get enough points from Brentford/Palace/Watford to just survive....

I'm more looking at Leeds than Burnley at this stage as our best chance of getting out of jail
I am. However, if Burnley get beat against Watford and we put them back in the drop zone I think both are there to put below us.

Serious question - did you watch Leeds play tonight? In case you didn't, they were dreadful. They now face arguably the best team in Europe, a team who are hunting down 4th and a superior side who despise them from a rivalry spanning over 50 years. I.e., Leeds lose their next three games.
Hope your right

I just realised Chelsea will be rotating heavily when they play leeds because it's 3days before the cup final.
We can't count on them dropping points elsewhere, gotta rack up our own.
Tbh I'd much prefer Burnley to go down, I like Leeds, but I'd take anyone over us gladly

Well I'm hoping Chelsea heavily rotate for our game too, as they play United Thursday night....still gonna be a strong team though if they do rest a few players

So it cant be done then ?
Of course it can be done.

But Everton would have to get everything - absolutely everything - right to get out of that division.

But you're looking at integrating/building an entire new squad (fine), maybe a new manager (we'll see on that), and the club never having in most of our lifetimes having been down in this position. We'd be facing a more congested season, which given our injury record isn't good news, and we'd be building the squad on very limited funds. That squad would somehow have to have enough quality to get promoted out of one of the toughest leagues in the world over 46 games.

Teams like Norwich and Fulham - they're set to come down and go back up because they keep the core of their squads together. It's why they don't have enough, usually, to stay up, but they know how to get back up.

I dont know. Maybe.

Best case scenario we can hope for in Leeds' next 3 is they get a couple of draws. I'd love them to get no points obviously.

If that's the case, we have the next 3 games to cancel out their 6/7 tally.

If we get 3 points against Chelsea on Sunday that'll change the way they play too.

Win games and pressurise those two above. If we do that then one will falter. Dont win the next one and they are on easy street.

This is where we've left ourselves. But Leeds' remaining games look iffy to me.
Fwiw
I think our season now hinges on the Watford , Palace & Brentford games.

Draws would be most welcome from a few others.

We need to aim for 4/6 points v Chelsea and Leicester.

Hoping Chelsea put away Man United midweek (Thu) so they have some more breathing space in 3rd for Champions League qualification.

Leicester away, 3 days after an away leg at Roma. Hopefully it goes to extra time etc and we can capitalise on a tired first choice XI.

Both games on Sunday so both Burnley and Leeds play before us

Burnley:
Watford (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Leeds:
Man City (H)
Arsenal (A)

We will have Mina, Van de Beek, Delph and hopefully DCL for Leicester and maybe Chelsea.

Do you think we should go for the win V Chelsea or setup for the draw like yesterday given the quality they have?
Play on the counter attack.

We already got a decent result away to them, no reason we cant take 4 points off them this season. I dont see they have an awful lot to play for, tbh.

Yes, but City play between now and then in a massive game and they have home advantage.

City should do them, but you never know. I wouldn't rule out a draw.

Hopefully DCL? oh you are clutching at straws now ?
