Relegation

Everything is going against us.

I hate to say it but our relegation is inevitable.

I hope we can do a Fulham and bounce back.

Moshiri will have to cover any losses by way of an apology for employing the BFSW.

So Fulham went down last year and bossed the Championship this season. What’s stopping us from doing that out of interest? Why is it so much doom and gloom for us if we go down.

*takes cover*

…folk concentrate on the players but the clubs in turmoil on and off the pitch. There’s a lot of fixing to be done & that might involve significant change.

If as appears very likely now we go down I hope that Moshiri keeps his nerve, retains Lampard and allows him to build a young team.

It would be inevitable that the likes of Pickford , Mina , Keane, Allan , Doucoure ,Alli , Richarlison and DCL ( if anyone is crazy enough to pay a decent fee for him after this season ) will all move on.

Getting rid of Holgate Gomes and Iwobi will be harder.

Clearly we will bring in players but for a fraction of what we get in sales.

We can build a team around a defence of Patterson , Godfrey ( who really needs to improve quickly ) Branthwaite and Mykolenko.
Gordon shows fantastic promise but little end product and a year at a lower level could help him learn to stay on his feet and develop .
Simms, Dobbin and even ( God forbid Rondon ) will score goals at Championship level.
Recruitment will be needed in midfield and with a new keeper.

This sounds drastic but it's doable, just look at the transformation of Palace this season.

We are Everton , we can and we will come back.

I think Lampard is toast whatever happens. And the board will somehow contrive to bring in someone worse.

This has been a long time coming. Carlo Ancelotti worked miracles to almost get these into Europe last season. We actually laughably seen it as a failure. It was an over successful relegation battle Carlo performed. Its a shock to some that we have dropped from top ten straight into relegation. We had a world class manager. Some people turned on him. Reep what you sow.

I don‘t believe we will go down, still plenty of chance to stay up and it is in our hands.

I think recently promoted teams that are relegated obviously have a better chance to adapt to the championship. They retain most of the players that did well in it the previous season, they normally don’t have the crazy overheads that premiership clubs have. If we did go down I’m not sure we would come back up so quickly, our whole club is based on the premiership/TV money. Many players we have are on crazy wages, they’d have to go or bankrupt us.

We might eventually come back like a phoenix from the flames with a team of players that want to fight for the badge, that dont think flopping around on the floor is football and that dont see playing for us as their second job.

Forget the new stadium too, while many say the finance is in place, the money is there. What about the repayments? We couldn’t afford to pay it off, who is paying top prices for season tickets for the championship, who is paying top prices for hospitality.

Relegation is not a chance for a reset for me, it’s the end. Which is why we must fight for every point.
