There’s no way stay up or go down we will sell Richarlison for 25m, DCL will go for less than we hoped for simply because he isn’t that good. But if we go down the likes of as Richy,Pickford will getting decent transfer fees.

They won't. They will be heavily reduced in price.

According to transfermarkt, these are the values of certain players -

Richarlison - 45 mil
DCL - 37.8 mil
Pickford - 22.5 mil
Doucoure - 22.5 mil
Godfrey - 19.8 mil
Keane - 19.8 mil
Mina -18 mil
Allan - 16.2 mil

To be honest the players I worry about more are the likes of Branthwaite, Gordon, Gray. I think they will have a lot of interest in the summer.

I don‘t believe we will go down, still plenty of chance to stay up and it is in our hands.

I think recently promoted teams that are relegated obviously have a better chance to adapt to the championship. They retain most of the players that did well in it the previous season, they normally don’t have the crazy overheads that premiership clubs have. If we did go down I’m not sure we would come back up so quickly, our whole club is based on the premiership/TV money. Many players we have are on crazy wages, they’d have to go or bankrupt us.

We might eventually come back like a phoenix from the flames with a team of players that want to fight for the badge, that dont think flopping around on the floor is football and that dont see playing for us as their second job.
We’re not done yet but the chances are fading. If we don’t beat Chelsea, I think it’s all over.m

Hi guys, what a nightmare eh, most expensive squad and best paid players we have ever had and we have assembled the worst team we've had in forever. I am almost done with footy, news about City potentially signing Haaland for £500k a week is the last straw, the game is eating itself from the inside out.

This is why I’m not arsed about going in the championship. What’s the point of even trying to compete in this league?

Agreed.

Even in terms of our fan base size we would be greatly diminished. Lower league teams receive almost no media coverage. I live just 5 miles from Prenton Park but I couldn’t tell you the first thing about them. I don’t even know what division they’re in. If we stay down for a long time (which is inevitable given how weak our squad is and how poor our financial state is) it’s likely that we will get to the point where some Scouse kids will simply have never even heard of Everton Football Club.

When Sheffield Wednesday were in the Premier League 20 years ago they regularly got crowds of 40,000. Nowadays their average attendance is around 20,000!
Agreed. Being in the lower leagues is a terrifying prospect. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that kids won’t have heard of us, but we will not be uppermost in their minds. You never hear about the likes of Sheffield Wednesday or Nottingham Forest anymore. I couldn’t name one of their players. Will kids be wanting lower league stars on the back of their shirts? Of course not.

If we go down the city really will be all theirs.

The Chelsea match is crucial. We really have to be up for it, players and fans alike.

So because City’s players have higher wages we should just play in the lower leagues?

A smaller wage bill doesn’t mean you can’t compete. Moyes got us top 4 with one of the tiniest wage budgets in the Prem.

Man Utd’s wage bill is bigger than the RS wage bill.

I think we need 38 points, so 3 wins, to survive.

I think Leeds only get 4 more points all season. That would put us level with them but we’d survive on goal difference. I think Burnley get 6 more points. That would see us finish 1 point ahead of them.

I have to believe we’ll win 3 of the next 5, as I’ve got zero faith in us getting something at Arsenal away on the final day. It’s a big ask.
