Yeah Tim mate neither can I but you have to be realistic.

If Everton, with their financial issues, need to buy 15 new players this summer to gel right away to then be able to get the points needed to get us up, then we're on a hiding to nothing already.

So by 'core' I mean just keeping the bunch of players that we don't absolutely need to sell, and can offer something. The rest obviously would have to go. But this ain't footy manager or FIFA.

We need to complete tear this squad apart. The evolution not revolution chat needs to go. We need a revolution because there is no point keeping sticking with something that will never work.

We won't obviously sell everyone, but everyone should be available for sale if a decent offer comes in. And the players who are completely surplus should be let go for free if needed.

I don't see any way we compete next year in the championship, but if it means we get a fresh start and can start building properly, then it's the right thing to do. We will be forced to sell anyway, so I hope that this discussion is all irrelevant and we get the change we need anyway.

i’m not sleeping atall never wanted anything in my life just for everton to stay up
try and keep it in perspective mate, if we go down the club will still exist, we will all still exist and life will carry on. At some point in future we will come back up whether straight away or in a few years. At some point in future the current custodians of the club will be out whether in the PL or the Championship.

But we're staying up anyway mate. We'll be unbeaten for the next 6 games.

They didn't think they could do it after Norwich away. They looked more gone than we do now. And they must have feared the worse when Dyche left.

I still think they're brittle and if Watford beat them they'll dip in form.

i can’t even say i hope etc coz ar the minute other clubs aren’t helping!

By that I mean so it's not that we need to buy 15 players and only need to buy, say, 7-8

Rich, Dom, Mina, Allan - they're out of the door straight away for various reasons.

You can probably keep Doucoure (he'd be miles better than anything else in that league lets be honest, in that role at least), and Iwobi (though if we could move him on then maybe for the best), same with Gray, Gordon.

Pickford's a weird one. We'd need his wages off the books obviously but there just isn't a market for him. It's mad as he's clearly England's best GK but what team buys him? None in the big 6 do, Villa, West Ham don't need a GK, he's never going to go to Newcastle. Southampton probably wouldn't break their wage structure to sign him and I don't see him going abroad. Maybe would end up being a loan to bloody Fulham or something under Silva ffs.

Anyway, regardless of that, there has to be a balance struck. You can't expect a squad of 15 new players to gel in what is a very short pre-season (if we go down we'll start our new season July 30th/31st), while there's been so much upheaval, and hit the ground running in that league.

So get rid of what we can but be realistic on the numbers.

A core of Doucoure, Iwobi, Gray, Gordon, Godfrey, the FBs, and ffs maybe even Keane because who takes him (but sell him if poss), is a decent enough start to build from there, with Townsend, Davies to come back from injury. It'll still require a lot of work but if you completely rip everything to shreds over one window it's not going to help in that league. Has to be done sensibly.
We are on the same page with the players to keep. Apart from Davies!

Simms and Nkonkou coming back too after a years experience playing.

I honestly don’t think any club will come in for DCL, so reckon he’s here at least until January.

Take it easy mate it's simply not worth running yourself into the ground over this

thanx lads and i know they’re is worse things in life etc. but i just don’t think i could cope

all i want is us to stay up and would be ok then

My end of season table based on

unbiased match results predictions for all teams remaining games.

For us I went with wins against palace and Brentford, draws with chelsea and Watford and losses to Leicester and arsenal.

Quite simply have to beat Chelsea. Draw and defeats are no good when you are chasing teams.

But beat Chelsea and Burnley and Leeds lose, then it's game on. We lose and Burnley win its over.

Pretty sure Begovic was number one when Bournemouth got to play offs last season so while I'd want a younger keeper he'd be alright in the short term.

Defence is easy really...Patterson in at RB, hopefully, Mykolenko at LB as after a torrid start he's starting to show something now and drop down a division can help. Need a few new CBs + Brathwaite (will likely be stuck with Holgate but again was a regular when West Brom got to play offs in 2019).

Central midfield needs a total overhaul. Out wide they'll be no takers for Townsend after his injury but he could be decent player in championship again and I'd keep Gray.

Upfront it's a case of getting in a proven striker (Brereton Diaz is a really good shout but he'll probably have prem suitors) and also giving proper chances to Broadhead and Simms who have been scoring goals at various levels this season so surely ready to get some chances here.

Burnley picking up just 3 more points from their run of games? Absolutely no chance.

Bizarre when that table has Leeds picking up another 5 points!

I'd be very surprised if Burnley don't go to Watford and win tbh. And they've got enough about them to take 4 points off Villa so I can see them being on 37/38 points before last day.

Burnley's GD is also the same as it is now which is odd if you're got them losing 4 of their last 5......?
