Burnley's GD is also the same as it is now which is odd if you're got them losing 4 of their last 5......?

Predictions were win draw lose… not score lines ?

The owner IS the problem with his constant interfering but the board are responsible for the day to day running of the club and they have failed massively for years at this. The whole lot need to go mate (Owner + board)
Indeed, and the owner is responsible for the board. It has to come from the top.

We need to complete tear this squad apart. The evolution not revolution chat needs to go. We need a revolution because there is no point keeping sticking with something that will never work.

We won't obviously sell everyone, but everyone should be available for sale if a decent offer comes in. And the players who are completely surplus should be let go for free if needed.

I don't see any way we compete next year in the championship, but if it means we get a fresh start and can start building properly, then it's the right thing to do. We will be forced to sell anyway, so I hope that this discussion is all irrelevant and we get the change we need anyway.
We do need to tear apart this squad but that does not equate to success in getting out of the Championship.

And we have only got the budget to go a year in the Championship before things get really nasty.

Any high earners have to go and we should be open to selling everyone bar maybe the FBs and Gordon, Dobbin. The rest I'd be fine with going. But there comes a number, a limit, of what we can reasonably expect to sell and then be able to compete which we do need to do.

Lampard, even if he's not the right manager, has shown it is possible to get a tune out of players that beforehand seemed helpless, so if he does stay that's certainly something to build on there isn't there.

All I'm saying is if people think we can get 10-15 players in this summer, if we go down, and somehow get them gelling in time for us to make a proper promotion push then I'd like to know what they're smoking.

I agree, hopefully it's all academic and we can have a 'hard reset' in the Premier League.

We are on the same page with the players to keep. Apart from Davies!

Simms and Nkonkou coming back too after a years experience playing.

I honestly don’t think any club will come in for DCL, so reckon he’s here at least until January.
Tom Davies has been a big miss this season. We'd have been better off with him in the side under Lampard that's for sure. He's the only player other than Delph that knows how to play number 6. I'm not saying he's amazing - he's far from it - but in the Championship he'd be fine and I can't criticise a player who has been injured for our bad performances. He's absolutely not an issue in the squad.

A club will come in for DCL, if Everton go down, because his value would be cut in half mate.

We have a game in hand on Burnley, does anyone know when do we play and they don't to level it up, I don't mean we play on Saturday and there not till the Sunday, I mean like a unique round?
I'm guessing it's either Palace at Home or Watford away?

Pretty sure Begovic was number one when Bournemouth got to play offs last season so while I'd want a younger keeper he'd be alright in the short term.

Defence is easy really...Patterson in at RB, hopefully, Mykolenko at LB as after a torrid start he's starting to show something now and drop down a division can help. Need a few new CBs + Brathwaite (will likely be stuck with Holgate but again was a regular when West Brom got to play offs in 2019).

Central midfield needs a total overhaul. Out wide they'll be no takers for Townsend after his injury but he could be decent player in championship again and I'd keep Gray.

Upfront it's a case of getting in a proven striker (Brereton Diaz is a really good shout but he'll probably have prem suitors) and also giving proper chances to Broadhead and Simms who have been scoring goals at various levels this season so surely ready to get some chances here.
He'd need a new contract would Begovic, which is fine, but we'd still need a new GK if Pickford went.

The FBs will stay whatever happens. I think we'll try to move on Holgate whatever happens too, but they'd definitely try to keep Godfrey. Agree on midfield, Townsend and Gray would be fine in the Championship though there's an issue that we don't know how AT will come back.

It's horrid and I'm not trying to justify going down or lessen the blow as it'll be absolutely horrendous. Just saying thoughts of it being able to be some great reset are wide of the mark.

People keep citing Palace getting rid of players as an example but of the 7 players that left on frees or whatever it was, only Townsend was a regular starter.

My end of season table based on View attachment 163581unbiased match results predictions for all teams remaining games.

For us I went with wins against palace and Brentford, draws with chelsea and Watford and losses to Leicester and arsenal.

Unbiased match predictions? You expect Burnley - who've picked up 10/15 points in their last 5 games - to get just 3 points from their remaining 5 fixtures?

No chance. We need to pray we can catch and topple Leeds at this point.

He has been a massive miss, when players are walking past Doc and Allan he would of put a foot on them at least

Agree on Skateboard kid - I've not been his biggest fan but we've missed him at times in terms of someone who can be busy in the midfield.

RE DCL I wouldn't go that far on a valuation drop - Pickford cost £30 millions in 2017 and Sunderland were in the championship. Players like Behrama and Watkins have also gone for £25-35 million fees down there and neither are/were established england internationals like DCL.

I think you're roughly looking at a £15-20 million drop off his price tag. I think in the PL we could still get £60-65 million from an Arsenal/Utd type club or Newcastle.

In the championship probably more £45-50 million.

We positively cannot start next season, whatever league we are in, with Gray and Townsend. Townsend as a squad player I am ok with, but Gray completely breaks down near every attack, he's pretty useless unless its in a free counter attacking role where he can use his pace.

Am with you tho Toff, we will not see 10-15 new players next season, what I want to do is shed the rubbish, the contracts bogging us down for ANY actual money so it looks good on the balance sheet - and then bring in 7 players, who will improve the team and squad and then go from there.

We are losing a lot of players this summer if we like it or not, disregarding the contracts expiring, we need to focus on the right players for the team/squad, not 10-15 players who just bulk out.
