Still lots to do of course

If we can keep this run going against Watford whilst Leeds lose their next two then we're safe as we'll be on 38 and the most they'll be able to get would be 37

Need to focus on ourselves though. If we get to 41 then I think that's the magic number as I can't see Saints beating Liverpool or Leicester

Hopefully things go our way and we do the business at Watford

This is still utterly horrible though, and if we do manage to survive I hope we don't get any of the stupid "Oh we were never going down, it was just bed wetters who thought that etc" takes that we've had in the past when we've been in sticky situations

If we do in fact manage to survive this then it's because the supporters realised the threat was real and turned up to roar the players over the line. I hope the complacency that has accompanied other dicey seasons in recent years is gone for good now, both from the support and the club

Also wary how some think the home games are a bit of a given. I think both palace and brentford fall into that category of tricky teams.
Thankfully lampard is very quick to stamp on complacency in his interviews yest. If there is one thing we know about a lot of this squad is they think they can put their feet up after 1 or 2 results.
Home games against weak teams have been embarrassing losses in recent seasons. Fulham and wba turning us over for example

I'm not counting any chickens yet and I'm still looking at those teams below us.

Burnley proved that it's still possible to pick up points against all odds and when your backs are up against the wall. Yes we have momentum now and have it very much in our hands, but let's not rest on our laurels, I want six more points this week and I hope we can be mathematically safe by the end of the weekend.

But goal difference may yet be a factor in the relegation battle so let's look where we stand on that:

We're currently -2 goal difference down on Burnley, albeit with some decent fixtures on the horizon. Crucially, we are +5 up in terms of goals scored which, if it came down to us being level on points and goal difference, would keep us up.

With regards to Leeds, we've scored 2 fewer goals, but are +16 compared to them, so goal difference would not go against us if we were head to head with them after the final whistle against Arsenal.

... but let's hope we do it in style by putting together 4 back-to-back wins by Sunday to enter next week with a huge sigh of relief.

12/1 to get relegated now. I can't see the bookies setting those odds if there was any doubt. There's been absolutely no doubt in my mind since the derby performance. I was sure Burnley's bubble would burst and Leeds' run in is just too difficult for them.

Lot of pressure on Leeds now. They need to win one of their next two games (a draw and a loss wouldn't be good enough either) or one win could do it for us. All ifs and buts but we're in a strong position. We really need to go into the Watford game with the right attitude.

Wouldn't take much to change those odds though. If we lose on Wednesday and Leeds get a result against Chelsea, or Burnley get a result against Spurs, there would be a huge change.

We have a big opportunity on Wednesday to go a long way to safety. But if we don't take it, things could get quite difficult again. Complacency is the biggest threat right now. We need more and no one can afford to relax and take their foot off the pedal, or we could easily drop back to 18th.
