We have a big opportunity on Wednesday to go a long way to safety. But if we don't take it, things could get quite difficult again. Complacency is the biggest threat right now. We need more and no one can afford to relax and take their foot off the pedal, or we could easily drop back to 18th.

And a defeat at Watford is far from the implausible long shot all of us want it to be. We lost 5-2 at home to this lot this season. They are now free of any pressure while we are likely to be riddled with it if we do not handle it positively. We have won two games on the road all season. Now we are tasked with winning twice away in a row. Imagine beating Chelsea and Leicester and then going on to lose at Watford. Throw in an unlikely Leeds win over Chelsea and we won't be feeling too good come Thursday morning.

Now is the moment we simply have to drive on. We are marginal favourites to stay up. Lose at Watford and all bets are definitely off.
 
The good bad news is that we could mess up and still have a chance of safety because of the game in hand.. We have 3 games (ditto Leeds, Burnley 2) before the final day (of reckoning) on the 22nd.

We have a game at Watford and Home to Brentford (after the rest have played, good news) and we might project a bad/moderate set of results prior to the Palace game.. of say 1, 2 or 3 points

Everton 36-38 pts and Palace to play
Leeds 34-38 pts if achieving 4 pts from their next two games
Burnley 34-38 if 4pts from 2 games at Spurs and Villa (on 19th, same day as we play Palace)

Most of these scenarios, even projecting relative failure for Everton and relative success for Leeds and Burnley, give us a healthy shot at safety with a win over Palace (taking into account Leeds GD)
 
I hope the players keep fight the way they have done over the last 5 games.
Hopefully they won't take their foot off the pedal because we're out of the relegation zone. Would be huge for us to get 3 points on Wednesday.
 
Need to win at Watford it’s imperative to keep this little run going, just look at the next game then win it, could easily take 9 points from the next 3 games, then Arsenal where hopefully nobody is playing for anything and all the players just enjoy a Sunday afternoon kick about that ends up 23/23 with an injury time next goal winner scenario
 
5 points from 4 games .. that's what we need to be safe, Leeds have 2 games at home and we all know how much difference that makes.

Southampton have 2 games left, and not easy games

Burnley again could get 2 wins from their last 3 games.

If we can finish on atleast 40 points we're safe due to goal difference etc


We've been incredible the last few games ...

In all likelihood we need another win.

If we won against Watford and we didn;t win another point I'd be 90% sure we'd be ok on 38 points.

One or both of Burnley / Leeds aren't getting 38 points.

People said we wouldn't get 9 points from utd, Chelsea, Leicester away. I hope you're right though.
Hard work beats talent,when talent doesn't work hard. Let's hope we keep that in mind continuing forward.
However ellen road knows that too, they will be doing their most to make the players run that bit more. If I was a Leeds fan, I'd be looking at Everton fans and be thinking that's exactly what we need to be doing

Reckon this is probably right. Beat Watford, and we could be safe before kicking a ball against Brentford.

Leeds look in freefall.
