Being relegated is good for no one.The whole club needs to pause now and start the recovery as soon as possible. If people need replacing then it needs to be done now no matter what their position is. If players aren't up to scratch then let them go , if we can't find a buyer they have to left to one side until their contract is up. When we can start to see that the club is going in the right direction we all have to get behind them and support them like we have never done before

Yesterday was a blow. I love Dunc, but dropping Gordon and playing 442 showed that lessons haven’t been learnt, which is disappointing.

I thought we would win and get breathing space but now we have a huge game against Newcastle which is huge ask for a new manager to come in to.

I think Moshiri could go for allardyce again. He is a business man and knows we need to stay up, let’s face it, he hired the waiter - anything can happen.

I honestly don't see us getting anything out of the Newcastle United game, which is a bit of a concern.

100% we will lose against Newcastle, there isnt enough time to turn things around before that.

The new man will need 4 weeks to get a tune out of this lot, only then can we expect to pick up points.

No reason why we shouldn’t. I thought that the problem was all Benitez and that these players would push the top 6 with a bit of coaching?

Who has ever said this squad would push the top 6?? Fact is we were pushing Europe for most of last season and relegation was never even a thought. Then that horrible kopite came in, sold 2 of our most creative players and here we are.

We are in relegation fight make no to mistake...

Not going to read much back in case there are mad shouts about relegation being good for a reset.

Putting politely no-one should be near any football with such mindset.

We are, we don't have to be if we can string even a couple of wins together soon though but we have said that for a while now.

Agreed with the relegation shouts. We are a club known for being a staple of top flight football. We have the most seasons in the top flight of any club, it's part of our make up. To lose that eradicates another part of the club and we have lost enough of that over the past couple of seasons.

Looked better yesterday already, only going off the lad for now. But he works in football so I will put my ahead above the parapet and say we will beat them.

But it happened. Slippy knew exactly what to expect and they combated it well unlike Lampards Chelsea a few seasons back. They weathered a storm by the end of it.

Gordon was legless by 70mins against Nowrich. He threw him on early rather than 70min mark that the Spanish Waiter would've some ( and been 3 down).

He made positive changes early and we didn't get the goal against a side who dug in. Was a great header at the stroke of halftime then the 45mins that proceeded was all in their half. Fine margins for a team that can't buy a win.

Againz you'd still make excuses if we'd won.
Polishing a turd.

He made all the wrong choices and only rectified them by bringing Gordon and Allan on - not at HT - 10 minutes into the second half. Stevie Wonder watching that first half could see what was needed before HT, nevermind at HT and beyond.

The shape of the team was appalling and made a ropey Villa look like Barcelona.

Stop defending this inexperienced cone layer.

He's had 5 games in charge of Everton and won one game.

We need the win in the cup, to hopefully settle nerves and give them a bit of confidence for the next two league games. Hopefully by then an permamnet appointment will have been made and Ferguson will have been told to get off the tit and go and forge his career in the real world!
