Thats what i hated about benitez too: cannot admit we are a disaster, and there is no hope. Its women and children first, not hollywood football.

Frank and his impossible accent and his expensive backroom staff cannot grab that. This is why we are going down, and actually, it would be fitting. We are living above our standards for way too long.

Yeah cause the pragmatic football we've played all season has brought great results so far hasn't it...
 
The two home games v wolves and newcastle will be a big factor to if we stay up imo. Watford away just after that but we are rock bottom of the premier league in away points picked up. How do you fix the gutless displays away. We've done the negative keep it tight under the previous manager and it was a disaster. Fact is we seem incapable of shutting up shop so i guess being more on the front foot is a better option.
I think this is going down to the wire.

I always say though that all roads lead to Moshiri. His hirings and his meddling with the playing side of the club has been catastrophic. Even the fans who have acted poorly did so because he ushered in a new era where we had fans thinking we could spend our way to a good team and sack any manager after 18 months if we didn't get success.

That's why the 27 minute protest group didn't scan for me: it is completely obvious that we need shut of Moshiri but they dodge that and prefer to point everywhere else as the source of our woes.

We should in theory have enough to get the points at home we need realistically 35-37 points for safety we should be capable of thirteen to fifteen points but we need to have the whole of goodison how they were versus Leeds. We cannot let the frauds in the team throw their hands in as they do away. Or we are in big trouble because there's a massive lack of fight in there...

March is critical for us I just hope we have a functioning team by then. And I agree attacking is our way out we sit in we are done our defence will make mistakes. We need to get Alli in the team sooner or later hope Dom gets going, get Gray and Docoure in and Patterson.
 

We have more wins this season than palace who are 13th.

This is the same palace who comfortably beat us 3-1 this season

If we can grind a few draws we would be fine. We need to pack the defence and midfield away from home and try and nick points. Every point is invaluable. We should have got at least a point against Brentford, Brighton at home and wolves away but we lost all 3.

He needs to set us up to be difficult to beat and then he can work on other aspects of our game.
 
Best to accept the worst, then it can only improve. I think we will go down. We dont have the players nor the manager vs direct opponents that have improved quite a bit. Lets just enjoy the games we have left.

Whilst it was negative under Benitez, it wasn’t based on possession. Maybe we need to move back towards the Ancelotti approach of boring possession for long periods. Just stop the opposition from building up a head of steam.
