Newcastle have been winning games with a midfield 3 of Shelvey, Joelinton and Willock. These aren’t great players but they are getting through on work rate and organisation.

If we can somehow keep Allan, Doucoure and VdB fit then these 3 should be the cornerstone of the team. Play Richi and whatever 2 other attackers look most on it.
Yeah agree they don’t stop! We have Gomes in the middle who looks total opposite workrate wise

Something we dont really seem capable of at times, i could take defeat if we had played well and lost, but now is not the time to play well and lose, we need every point we can get

I think someone was asking when was the last time we got a draw. Was it Spurs at home in November?
Away at Chelsea in December, Spurs at home the last draw at Goodison in November, funny enough spurs at home last april was our previous home draw as well

Cheers mate. I look at the likes of Newcastle away and Saints away and think they're games we at least need to be getting a point from due to the likes of City and Spurs coming up.

Nothing to do with the set up Saturday, attitude of the players is a disgrace. Stay up or not, there's a lot of them who need to be volleyed out of this club so we can start again and rebuild

No doubt our best midfield and best front 3 is good. Who do we play at the back though?

I don’t think we are safe at all. We probably shouldn’t go down, but if we continually keep switching off, and sleep walking through some of the games, we will drop.

No club is too big, or too good to go down. The mentality of the players if fundamental to me, if they don’t snap out of it, we’re done.

I don’t think we have the mentality to fight…

Did the Echo predictor and was generous. Saw Burnley, Watford and Norwich go down with us ending up in 14th with 37 points some 8 points clear of relegation. Thats a fine margin and I am no Nostradamus.

Did a predictor and had us finishing on 35 points. The team in 18th, think it was Leeds on around 28. I tried to be balanced, didn't give us an away win and only 2 or 3 draws.

Everyone o
We are gonna need to pull a top quality result from the likes of City, Chelsea, Utd at home or Spurs, rs away.

It isn't as cut and dried as looking at a Watford or Burnley and thinking "yeah, we'll get 3 points from them".

When we can't win, it's so important to at least grind out a point here and there as that'll make a massive difference come the end of the season.
Ye, I think we need to beat Man City and Tottenham, never mind the easy teams, get points on the board before we run out of games

Let's also be honest about this (and honesty is what we need at this point in time) the fact that our supporters have not got behind a manager for a large chunk of this season has contributed to where we are right now. Outsiders to the club would have no problem in observing that. Most got behind Benitez and gave him a chance; many many others refused to do that and when the results were turning poor their impact was enormous in affecting the way the majority of Evertonians felt about the season and the manager.

We have to be big enough to recognise that as a major issue for where we are now if we're to use the rest of the season to get behind these dossers in blue shirts to get them over the line. There has to be a mea culpa here because it's a big dimension to this predicament.

There's a lot of blame to go around here.

...in that order.

You don’t even go the match you crab. And you’ve got the gall to blame the fans ???

We are bottom of the table based on games since November I think. Maybe Leeds changed that.

I think we'll stay up but I certainly wouldnt put money on it. We have no guarantees until we are mathematically safe.

These players cannot be trusted. They are the worst we have had in my 40 odd years supporting.
I agree.

The odd thing is we do have some good players but the injuries have mainly affected our good players. It has left us relying on multiple second tier players that just aren’t good enough.

8m isn’t massive money and a playmaker in midfielder isn’t necessarily a central midfielder. When has Iwobi played in that position for Everton?
He still been around a £20 mill + plus investment that has contributed zero! Iwobi you have an argument about central midfield, granted he’s supposedly a number 10 type. Still useless though
