….I think we’ll lose both. Folk continue to say the players are bottling it but I think that’s a lazy excuse. I thought the attitude was fine for 20 minutes or so.

As well as continued poor selection, I think this is lots to do with tactics that actually expose players weaknesses. A good manager will initially look to make us hard to beat, to negate the negatives, mitigate the risks.

i actually think Lampard has to take a lot of the blame & it concerns me he sets us up as though we are a good team.
And it will continue in the absence of Allan. I’d honestly look at playing Delph. But probably needs 3 months recuperating

We'll effectively relegate them if we beat them at home and pick up another couple of wins.

Their run in gets worse and worse.

I've been baging on about Brentford for days and maybe some more people will begin to see why: 3 games in hand over them and they have a 5 point lead with hardly any games I see them picking up maximum points in.
Atleast it's fun mate, keeps the old brain ticking on.

Eggs mate, there are 90 minutes plus in a match. To just shut down after 15 minutes is unforgivable. If an under 10 team did that I would be fuming. For these multi millionaires to do it makes me incandescent with anger.

Probably the most abject "performance" I have ever seen and I was at the rs hammering of us in 82. Nothing to give me any confidence.

I agree the attitude was fine for the first 20 minutes but I never thought for one minute we would win you just knew they would fold under any pressure.
I don't really want to start criticising Lampard this early , I would say he has probably misjudged how poor this squad is. He has to back them at this time but I would love to be a fly on the wall when he discusses things with his coaching staff

:
These biggest games in in 20 years fixtures are now almost one after the other

I think 33pts does it so we’re looking for 2 wins and 2 draws from 11 games
my worry is being on 33 or even more and Burnley being 3 points behind after game 37 , that last game of the season will be torture . Us away to arsenal them home to Newcastle need to be four Clear of the bottom three by then

We do. Then the players decide they can’t be bothered to implement it in games. Every manager we’ve had recently has said the same. What they see in training is not displayed in match days.

The team is chopped and changed too much though be it injury/fitness/suspensions/form. DCL or Mina would have been dealing with the CB on corners. Without them the aerial presence isn't the same. They dealt easily with all our corners.

That would be a concern but if Arsenal have 4th sewn up Arteta would want to do us a favour, we've beat his Arsenal side every time as well. Isn't Eddie Howe a blue as well? He'll have Newcastle fired up.

I think our toothlessness upfront will ultimately hinder us.

The defence is an issue, but we rarely attack away from home.

Prime example of this is from the Newcastle game, we’ve had 5 shots on target away from home, we’ve not actually scored (Newcastle was on own goal), failed to record shots on target in 2 of those games and conceded 14 goals.

Look at Leeds, concede every game, but have found a way of scoring, one problem to fix. We’ve got flaws everywhere.

The crowd can’t carry Goodison forever, and if we come into the United game in the back of 2 further away games, well… I’m very excited to see what the ground will be like.

I think Brentford are very much in the mix. The away games we have against Watford and Burnley are critical. It’s desperate and a long shot but we could really do with Mina being fit for the last 6/7 games to give the defence some semblance of authority.
You realize its really really desperate when we beg for Mina to come and save us. The truth is we have never come remotely close to replacing Jagielka and Distin. Was shocked we didnt strengthen at cb in the summer. Could not believe my own eyes when we repeated the mistake in january. We deserve to be relegated. This team as of now would also struggle in the championship
