My first ever away game was Burnley away 1969/70 a massive game on the title run in. The game on Wednesday is probably a bigger game as this time we can't afford to lose.
I won't be there on Wednesday as I have just been diagnosed with Prostate cancer which is a bit of a bummer but you know what occupies my mind when I wake up at night ? Not worrying about the cancer no it's this gang of soft shites getting my team relegated.
On a happier note we won 2-1 in 1970 as I am sure you know.
Best of luck with your treatment Paul, let's have some good news all round this week, a win on Wednesday would be absolutely massive for us.

Even if we somehow stay up this season it’s only delaying the inevitable. I have zero faith that the manager can turn this around regardless of the players at his disposal which, lets be honest, will be mainly the bunch that he has this season. I have zero faith that the board/owner will suddenly become efficient and professional enough to steady the ship either off the field or on it. So failing new ownership and complete overhaul of the club we are eternally screwed.

Sorry to hear mate. Praying treatment goes well for you

If we stay up then its a shocking reflection on the whole league. We deserve relegation. Our team is a disgrace and the vermin that run our club deserve to be where we are as do all the moronic sycophants on here and elsewhere that have continued to lick the arses of the usless helmets that run us for as long as they have.

Both need watching. But burnley have us and then norwich on sat. Win ideally but we simply cant afford to lose on weds. At least we have games in hand over watford.
Means little if we keep on losing i know
Not sure that Lampard will be able to handle a Burnley street fight.

We are the worst run club in top tier football. I could right a thesis on it, because there are so many horrendous and obvious decisions made top to bottom that would baffle a non football person. Knew something stunk from the moment we bought Siguurdson for £45 million,

That would involve Watford getting 3 wins from 8 just to equal us. Just don't see it

They've picked up 8 away points under Hodgson so pisses all over the Lampard record. Got Palace away which they'll target for a possible backs to the wall win.

And ultimately their final 5 home games are: Leeds, Brentford, Burnley, Everton and Leicester. They could win three of those with their forward players in alright form.

Perhaps Watford-Burnley will just end 0-0 but that feels too good to be true, they'll be a winner in that game imo.

That run in is terrible, I'd say watching that game today would have given Burnley more confidence if anything. They have a massive opportunity to claim 6 points in their next 2 games. Them playing Norwich after us is a nightmare too.

I think their run in is decent aswell. Got Southampton and Wolves at home end of April. Possible they could grind 4 points out of that. Also got to play Villa twice who they usually do well against and in proper beach mode now. And also Newcastle last day who should be safe and aren't that good now their purple patch of form is over.

People are acting like Burnley are 10 points behind but 4 points is relatively nothing at this stage of the season and they have slightly better GD.

I don't know. This is a terrible season but not like it was in late 90s when it was relegation battle after relegation battle. Then Kevin Campbell signed and that sparked a mini revival and 99/00 was actually a reasonably enjoyable season with loads of exciting games, Jeffers coming through etc (before Smith signed OAP 11 and it went wrong again).

Then Moyes came in similar situation, just about kept the team up in 01/02 and 03/04 wasn't great either. However he was given time and built a side that is similar to what he's built at West Ham now.

Lampard probably won't get that time but he should be in charge next season whatever the outcome. Has a full season in championship at Derby and at least he's proven at giving young players a chance when you study his Derby and Chelsea teams.

Exactly. I think Burnley and Watford could easily survive due the nous in their dugouts.
