I don't know. This is a terrible season but not like it was in late 90s when it was relegation battle after relegation battle. Then Kevin Campbell signed and that sparked a mini revival and 99/00 was actually a reasonably enjoyable season with loads of exciting games, Jeffers coming through etc (before Smith signed OAP 11 and it went wrong again).

Then Moyes came in similar situation, just about kept the team up in 01/02 and 03/04 wasn't great either. However he was given time and built a side that is similar to what he's built at West Ham now.

Lampard probably won't get that time but he should be in charge next season whatever the outcome. Has a full season in championship at Derby and at least he's proven at giving young players a chance when you study his Derby and Chelsea teams.
You benchmark is depressingly low and eerily similar to our future

The moment Allan got sent off in the Newcastle game, I would have been pleased to hold on for a point there and then really pleased with a point today so we’ve actually ended up with one more point than if that had happened.

Probably a good thing that the Burnley game is coming around quickly. Need to try and get one good result this week as we’ve got another 10 day break after the United game.

My first ever away game was Burnley away 1969/70 a massive game on the title run in. The game on Wednesday is probably a bigger game as this time we can't afford to lose.
I won't be there on Wednesday as I have just been diagnosed with Prostate cancer which is a bit of a bummer but you know what occupies my mind when I wake up at night ? Not worrying about the cancer no it's this gang of soft shites getting my team relegated.
On a happier note we won 2-1 in 1970 as I am sure you know.
That was my first away game as well. Followed by Liverpool a couple of weeks later. Totally different times from now in almost every way. Hope you make a full recovery. Stay strong.

Best of luck with the recovery mate.

It isn’t.

The majority of people who didn’t want him sacked weren’t saying so because they were in love with him. It was largely (particularly towards the end of his tenure) that there were no obvious better alternatives.

I’ve seen a few shouts on here in recent weeks to sack Lampard and get a manager in who has proven form in a relegation battle. Which is ironic.
Don’t understand the irony. What form does Benitez have in a relegation battle?

Thinking about today, if we had Mina Patterson and Allan in that team today we don’t get beat, also DVDB to comeback as well, I think we will get the points needed.

Keane & JJKenny need to be nowhere near 1st team

Watford and Burnley have experience managers who have been here. We have a manager who inexperienced at this. We are screwed

Mate we were an Iwobi and Keane mistake away from getting something out of it.

Nobody expected to win this one. We lost against the team 6th in the league. Let’s move onto Wednesday now.
