They've picked up 8 away points under Hodgson so pisses all over the Lampard record. Got Palace away which they'll target for a possible backs to the wall win.

And ultimately their final 5 home games are: Leeds, Brentford, Burnley, Everton and Leicester. They could win three of those with their forward players in alright form.

Perhaps Watford-Burnley will just end 0-0 but that feels too good to be true, they'll be a winner in that game imo.
Just shows the mess we are in! Guaranteed both Watford and Burnley will get a few wins towards the end.

I don't know. This is a terrible season but not like it was in late 90s when it was relegation battle after relegation battle. Then Kevin Campbell signed and that sparked a mini revival and 99/00 was actually a reasonably enjoyable season with loads of exciting games, Jeffers coming through etc (before Smith signed OAP 11 and it went wrong again).

Then Moyes came in similar situation, just about kept the team up in 01/02 and 03/04 wasn't great either. However he was given time and built a side that is similar to what he's built at West Ham now.

Lampard probably won't get that time but he should be in charge next season whatever the outcome. Has a full season in championship at Derby and at least he's proven at giving young players a chance when you study his Derby and Chelsea teams.
Yeah, and his time at Derby is one of the reasons they are in a mess at the moment!

Benitez should never have walked through the Finch Farm doors so it’s all academic really.

It isn’t.

The majority of people who didn’t want him sacked weren’t saying so because they were in love with him. It was largely (particularly towards the end of his tenure) that there were no obvious better alternatives.

I’ve seen a few shouts on here in recent weeks to sack Lampard and get a manager in who has proven form in a relegation battle. Which is ironic.
