You know when Everton are doing something right because the media starts to have a go at us. When we were an ‘embarrassment’ for finishing 4th, when Fellaini was castigated by Ferguson as anti football after he bullied them in that game, when we were apparently cheating by loaning players who we would never buy (we then bought them all), and now we’re apparently ruining the transfer market by overpaying for an ‘average’ player. Well we’ll see but when you take the agenda out all I see is Everton once again reaffirming to the likes of Watford where us and they stand in the pecking order, showing the rest of the league that even after the debacle last summer we still have money and are not going to go away, and a 20 year old Brazilian forward who can play across the front line and could be a star now in the royal blue rather than Bolasie or DCL on the wing.

Your really surprised when they saying we're "overpaying for an average player".
Keane 25m
Siggurdson 45m
Klassen 24m
Bolasie 28m
Williams 12m
Sandro 5.2m
Richarlison 35m based on 11 games.

If we were selling players more then there worth it wouldn't matter but we're not.

Lukaku should of been around 120m and Barkleys true value was around 35m. Rooney being let go for free, how many times have you seen a player with Rooney's reputation being released for free having 1 year left.

Were buying players for more then there worth and selling them for less then there worth. And if that's not enough, some of the players bought are on high wages and have literally halved in transfer value.

Papers often get it wrong, but there right about this one.

Twice consecutively now.

Are you sure he isn’t?? I’m not.

I am confident he is. We are not buying a defensively shy player here. We have a work horse who will help out and is not just a body there. He is quite good at winning a ball back and springing an attack. Attacking wise we will have to wait and see and I hope he isn't a one trick pony like Del is. I have confidence he is better by far than Del and more of a team player.

Good luck to the lad getting this deal, he's now elevated himself to superstar status, just hope he can handle the pressure and fulfil the role putting in performances worthy of the transfer fee and wages now but I have to say being fairly pessimistic by nature and this being Everton and the age and experience of the lad I won't be holding my breath.

Such a small sample size though. Ok our recruitment on the whole has been poor since Moshiri arrived but before that we were arguably the best in the league at recruitment out performing the majority of the non top 6 teams every single season even on a negative net spend under Moyes. Signings like Stones have made huge profit whilst even Lukaku went for at the time pre Neymar was close to a world record fee.

City had their days of buying Elano Adebayor Wayne Bridge etc. Spurs had a disaster after selling Bale before turning it round, Liverpool have been to the brink of administration wasting money under Benitez on poor buys, came out of it and allowed Comolli to waste it, and then even let Rodgers waste another load. So excuse Everton for having 2 wasteful windows in their recent history. Even the greatest blue of them all got it wrong with his first raft of buys.

Richarlison will not end up on that list of flops. He’s a completely different profile of player. I think and hope we will be looking back on this as a great buy when we have an absolutely top notch attacking player.

But that's when you have to look at the transfers , after moshiri arrived.
Moyes policy was completely different you compare that to the last 3 seasons.

So far he has got Pickford right.
Tosun let's see this season and walcott the fee was right but his value will decrease by the season due to his age.

Most of the rest he has lost money on.

Tosun, Walcott, Siggy, Richarlison looks pretty decent on paper. Lets hope they are decent on the pitch. Looks good to me and with Walcott and Richarlison we certainly have that much needed pace that fits into Silvas 'Spring board attack'.

Moshiri doesnt buy the players tho.
