I mean you certainly have a point about people moaning about the lack of spending and it's clear that Richarlison has a lot of potential, I just wish it was us who are the club to be uncovering promising young players on a regular basis for decent fee's rather than paying top end value in the hope that potential is filled.

Like Stones, Lukaku, Coleman, Holgate, Lookman, DCL etc?

No. It's exactly their job to do that.

I just looked up how many players have EVER transferred for over £50m. The answer is 30. Granted the market is changing, but some of the names on there for very recent moves under £50m: Fred, Alex Teixeira, Bernardo Silva, Leroy Sane. Is Richarlison in that class?

Honestly, I think he could better than all of them. And yes, the market has altered so much even in just the last year that such comparisons are daft and serve no purpose.

The argument we could have got better from Europe for similar less fee is mute. Our name carries no weight in Europe with the class of player we've allegedly been in for. I.e. Lozano Malcom etc. Any continental player moving up a notch wants CL.

richarlison maybe coming at a premium but at least silva knows the player.
