2018/19 Richarlison

I'm sure hibbert and Osman dreamed of playing for Barca. We should be happy that we have a lad that could actually be good enough to achieve it.
Hibbo was a wonderful defender but the likes of Barca and RM want their fullbacks to not only be world class at defending (which Hibbo undoubtedly was) but also to present attacking threat. Hibbo once scored a wonderful goal in a non-competition match, but generally speaking, he wasn't a prolific goal scorer. But on balance, I'd aver Everton was lucky to retain Hibbo's services for as long as we did...I think the feelers of the European giant clubs would definitely have been out for him.... but he was a loyal blue (and justifiably, he became an Everton legend).
Osman?...imo there is absolutely no question that behind the scenes, those same European 'giant teams' had discreetly courted his signature. But I believe both him and Hibbo, together, made a private oath of allegiance to Everton: these guys lived and breathed nil satis nisi optimum.
Richarlison?...yes, he looks to have some ability, but imo it's waaaay too early to include him in the same conversation as that had about Hibbo and Ozzy.
I suspect some reading this might accuse me of viewing things through a lens too blue-tinted (and my contention that Capt Jags should have captained RM or Barca possibly only reinforces that accusation). But what can I say?....I call it as I see it.

Thanks for reading

At first I was buying into you being serious. Then I finally smiled.

Didn’t read it all as couldn’t be Rsed........no wum intent

Walcott isn't exactly bad, mate. And Seamus, despite his slow start, has the quality (obviously he's now injured).
Big fan of Seamus, and with Baines, have been my favourite Blues for some time (since Pienaar, Cahill and Arteta left).
If he gets back to his old form that's one of the right sorted. But that's becoming a bigger if. Just really hope he can get back there.
Walcott to me has always been over rated (maybe a tad harsh) and not what Everton needs right now.

I'd always rate the player first on how he helps make the side tick and in doing so, how he contributes to the overall result.
So if he keeps beating players 1-1 up the wing and keeps scoring goals you can argue he's doing that.
Sure, he's done well from it, made millions, played for England.

But for me Walcott has always seemed to me to be a beneficiary of good play around him, rather than the one making it happen - besides the pace he offers. But his linking in a movement is usually straight forward and predictable and he offers little in terms of creativity and solutions. He's got away with it for many years because of his pace, with Wegner using him as a weapon of speed with a half decent strike.

We've got an amazing player on the other wing ready and more than willing to rip up the premiership. The oppositions right-sided defence has been stacked trying to stop the fella. What Richarlison needs is the right to soak up some pressure, draw the defence over. Personally I don't see Walcott being able to do that consistently, effectively. Basically we need Richarlison to be the beneficiary of the right sided play not the other way around. I'll wholeheartedly be cheering on Walcott and JJK, but over the next couple of windows we're going to have to find something, if we're going to keep him here longer.

Remember when everyone flapped at Koeman wanting to manage Barca one day.
