Which is why I don't understand it. You're allowed to judge whether a slap is hard enough to warrant a red but not a headbutt? It isn't like either is part of the game.

Yeah that does appear to be the case, you can't lightly move your head towards another players head, but you can lightly move your hand towards another players head.

Guess it's cause a headbutt is seen as worse than a slap, no matter what force is used.

Personally I'm not having that and if it is the current rule then I'd suggest looking at it because quite frankly it just goes against common sense. As I said somewhere else the same thing happened to Huddersfield today and I don't think it was violent enough to be red.

He looks a divvy though. Even going off he looked like he hadn't learned a thing.

No place for thick players in any team. This lad looks thick.

He’s South American dave, they tend to have a bit of a fiery side to them. He’s an aggressive player, you can see that by his desire, but he needs to curtail it for situations like that.

Would have been better off using his talent to make a fool of him. He’ll be a target now, every time someone has a chance they’ll wind him up

It makes sense for use of the hand or arm, lightly slapping a player on the cheek isn't really violent conduct, punching them is, both are striking an opponent but only one is worthy of a red card and 3 match ban. Could easily be applied to use of the head as well.

But players know full well that any use of the head is a red so just should know better.

Most of them are far cuter than he was today. No self-respecting snide south american would commit a cardinal error like that.

It was a stupid mistake. Needs to learn from it. Glad Silva called him out.

But, if he gets a red, then so should Smith as he leaned in as well. I get that Richarlison flicked out, but the ref didn't see it and went with the B'mouth players. A sensible approach would have been to award yellows to both and leave it there.

I agree it was daft. But you said there's no place in any team for thick players and state you want Barkley back. That lad is different level thick
No he hisn't. He's a very good player who would never put his team mates under the cosh with a needless dismissal.

Red cards for stuff like that just send me over the edge. I just cant tolerate that.
