His ceiling is very high and 50-60m is daylight robbery, I think he can fit into a lot of clubs these days with his defensive covering and playing on the left or in the middle, I agree he's not world class level but if you place him in a superior team to us he might skyrocket away.
Havertz just went for 70m and he's younger and honestly probably higher rated. I'm not saying we should take less, I'm saying that we shouldn't expect to get more.

Selling Richarlison for 80m and having Zaha come in for 40m is just complete fantasy land though, Palace have already turned down 50m or more and once they see we're flush they'll be even more resistant.

I agree, but teams will be reluctant to pay £80m + for 'might'.

Never a sure thing even when spending big money, Coutinho/Pogba/Griezmann, etc Football is just getting more and more silly with transfers these days.

When you get in to that highest price bracket above €80m, the players are always top quality, amongst the best in their position. Richarlison isn't there yet, he may be one day, but not right now.

The two exceptions to this were Dembele and Joao Felix, both moved after the buying clubs had received massive transfer fees for other players, which always makes transfers more expensive than normal.

Can’t agree with this mate, he’s brilliant. Has a good eye for defensive duties too. I think he’s better than James to be honest. Both fantastic don’t get me wrong, I just think James is a luxury player who leaves holes, Richarlison doesn’t.

I agree, I think Richarlison is brilliant and possibly better than James too. He's excellent and will make it to the Champions League one day, hopefully with Everton. I just do not think he is in the top 10 players in his position in the world yet and that is what justifies a fee over €80m in my view. Especially after this year, I think transfer fees are more likely to shrink for a couple of years as clubs become more cautious financially.

Just like if we value Richarlison at £100m, then everything else is irrelevant. Pay or don't get.

I think the club will take this approach too, but sometimes players who want to leave do not always react well and it can hurt the team morale.

Didn't Richarlison's form dip at Watford after he / Silva was linked with a move here? Is he the type of player to sulk? Who can say, but lots of excellent players have in the past to get their own way.

If he sulks he only hurts his own career.

Given we have him on a long term deal, like Zaha at Palace we hold all of the cards.

He will not be going anywhere cheaply. But if we got £100m+ I have always been of the view that I would be happy to move him on.

Havertz is utter pony.
