Still one of our best players, still one of few that can turn a game on his own. Soooo,I respect you opinion but I'll respectfully disagree. It's really not. He's been bad and when someone plays bad their spot is at risk. I don't think he's being put in positions to succeed but if Carlo isn't going to trust Nkounkou I don't know that the position exists in our setup as is.
Would have liked to see him through the middle when DCL was taken off & Gordon on the wide left just pointless putting Tosun on...
The way he is playing currently he isn't one of our best players. And I agree he is someone who can conjure a goal but he hasn't done that very much this year has he? So the game turning thing just isn't there.Still one of our best players, still one of few that can turn a game on his own. Soooo,I respect you opinion but I'll respectfully disagree.
Been thinking this for a while - both DCL and Richarlison could do with some competition ASAP.
The squad is a shambles - really need a good 2-3 players this month coming in.
Yep. I mean this not as an insult but he's a limited player. He's not a winger who can play 1v1 and make a lot happen. Mostly he just gives it away. Carlo has taken away his LB and it has made it really difficult for him. Plus he has to hold the width so his strength, which is being in the box, isn't an option because there won't be any width and therefore space to work. His flaw is fully exposed this season, he is not an accomplish dribbler, he will be world class if he can improve on this.
right now he is being double team at every occasion because he 1) has no support 2) running into blind alleys. Our left back and attacking midfielder need to do more to lower his burden.
The current situation is clearly draining his confidence day by day.
Since the early season open games I dont think James has offered much. I know he was injured, played with injury but he is lightweight for this league. He needs to come on when a game has opened up I think. Hope to be proven wrong of courseThe way he is playing currently he isn't one of our best players. It wouldn't be out of line for me if Iwobi and James were fit for them to start as the wingers for a game or two and see what happens unless Richarlison can rebound.
Did not look interested at all tonight, never thought I'd say that about him because usually he hates losing, is tackling back, chasing everything, tonight he looked like he didn't want to be here.
I disagree. His last start was up at Burnley where he was denied by a great save and set up what on another day would have been the winning goal. At Fulham he was heavily involved in two goals despite not having an assist himself and even against Leeds where we weren't great he had 3 shots and 5 passes leading to shots. And along those lines Richarlison will be better with James back in but it would also help a lot to have a real LB outside him so that he can come inside further without eliminating width on the left.Since the early season open games I dont think James has offered much.
