He lost his a head a little in showing Thiago what the premiership is about, shame he has not got Songs exposure, then it would be unintentional...

So he wont be back until after the next round of internationals?

Lads let himself down massively.

One thing you have to do in a derby is keep your head and he lost it with minutesto go when we were level.

If he isn't 100% just tell Ancelotti that he needs a weeks rest instead of trying to play every game carrying a knock and doing something daft out of frustration.

If we drop a few points over the next 3 he'll have played a big part in it as he's a massive part of our side both attacking and pressing from the front.

More internationals coming up? ffs.

Robertson's was worse, yet nothing's been made of it.

He wasn't injured today, it was just one of them - players have them, especially 23-year-olds.

That tackle got the ball. Unfortunately momentum and the pace he's gone in at means his foot bounced off the ball and into Thiago. It's a definite red, but there was no malice, just a full-blooded challenge.

Silly to do it, you're right, but it happens.

However, the main issue now is where it leaves the squad. Have faith in Iwobi and Bernard, Gordon etc to cover, but it's putting a lot of strain on DCL.

That's not just down to Rich though, and is a risk that wasn't mitigated by the club, foolishly imo.

Isn’t the first player to lose his head in a derby and he won’t be the last. I remember Riise getting sent off on the stretcher for a similar offence

Tbh he needed a break. He’s played way too much football recently when not fully fit. It showed today. A bit of time out the team to get full fitness back won’t be that bad as long as his absence isn’t too detrimental to the team. Time for Iwobi or Gordon to step up.

He wasn't great today, like most days be honest. I like the lad, he's usually great at finishing chances in and around the box, but apart from finishing and work rate, he doesn't really have a trick or pass, or cross or clinical through ball does he? so I don't know why we're persisting with him on the left. Nkoukou offers more in that postion. can richy cross as well as nkoukou? Can he beat players the way nkoukou does? Move richy more central and closer to goal where he'd be more effective.

you trying to say Nkounkou will outperform and outscore Richie playing on the left? bit too far fetch mate.

I'm really disappointed in him today. Getting himself sent off to no real effect does us absolutely no favours. He's out of the United game now - and this is the type of game he thrives in. To be honest, I think our lack of forward options contributed to this. If he was genuinely fighting for his place, or at least under some pressure for it, he might have been more circumspect in going into that "tackle".

Injuries and suspensions will do for us in the end. The first team is competing for the top four, but the squad is cut out for 7th or 8th. Therefore, injuries will dictate where in that range we will finish - and stupid suspensions, which are always preventable, are self-inflicted wounds that push us that bit more down that range.
