That’s the point, though, isn’t it? That’s why people are desperate to keep him. Because nearly all the rest are useless.

I agree he doesn’t make the top 5 Everton players of the last 20 years. But he certainly makes the top 5 Everton players of now, and I don’t trust the hierarchy to spend any money we get for him (yet, they may do a good job in the transfer market).
The rest will remain useless until we can use the money Richarlison may fetch to rebuild. He's a saleable asset. I'm not desperate to keep him because if this is as good as it's going to get for Everton, then there is no point. I don't trust the hierarchy to spend the money wisely either - but there is no way we rebuild unless we do spend that money wisely. It's the only punt we have. And people seem to have hitched their wagons to Frank Lampard.

I like Richarlison. Along with Pickford, he is our only decent player. But one or both are going to have to go - unless we can pawn off DCL on some poor unsuspecting mug.

He's a top player.
For Ancelotti he played deep and tackled back all the time.
Lampard had him as a lone striker.
He leaves it all out there even when he's not in great form.
I'd love to see him in a well organized team where he doesn't have to worry about losing the ball or tracking back.
We have a champions league level player who loves the club. We should do everything possible to build around him.
I'd even make him Captain if his English is good enough.

Close up the shop so.

People are howling at the moon if they think we can improve without dramatically improving our recruitment. No coach in the world - as the last two years have shown - can get a tune out of the current rabble.

The clubs Lookman isn’t good enough to play for are: Everton, Leicester, Leipzig.

The clubs you think Richarlison isn’t good enough to play for, based on rumours, are: PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona.
Eh I think if we really had ambition we'd be trying to improve on Richarlison in time. But we're really bad right now so obviously gotta focus elsewhere.

As Bill Kenwright once said:

It’s terrible, but it’s Everton.

I've never once suggested we can get better without improving recruitment.

The problem is we have like only 3 or 4 good players. If we sell Richarlison, then we sell our main goalscorer, and that's very risky for a side who came 16th on under 40 points.

I'm not against selling him if he wants to go (as expected) but if we get it wrong with our reinvestment then we will go down in the next year or two. We won't find a like for like who is as good as him, it's as simple as that. But we can make the collective better if we are smart. Who knows if we are capable of that though.

I don't understand this discussion about Richarlison.

For me, there are a couple of truths about him.

We would now be a Championship side if not for his contribution ( this is true about some others as well... but not many)

He has the ability to play at a much higher level and raise his game to play in a high standard team, unfortunately we did not provide him with this opportunity.

The high standard of club that will chase his signature if he is to leave will show how highly he is regarded in the game.

….being a regular for Brazil is a decent benchmark to compare players over the years, not sure we’d have had many fitting that criteria, especially forwards.

Regardless, it’s not that we haven’t spent monies, it’s more that we’ve wasted monies.

For what it’s worth, I think he’s a top player who would be effective at a top club.

Smart teams definitely ignore them when deciding who to buy. But football is still filled with dumb dumbs.

Man United buy Richarlison for example. How many penalties is he scoring there? You just bought a 7 goal scorer for your team even if he scored 10 for Everton.
It's pretty amazing that you haven't got a top level job in football.
