Also Madrid have a guy who does the getting on the end of things already. You may have heard of him it's Karim Benzema. Not sure they need to shell out 75m or whatever for someone who does that but worse. Money isn't an object for them though.

No. Selling your best players for money that may or may not (recent history tells us not) improve the team is not the way forward. We just got huge wages off the books and have plenty other sellable option before our best player. Could even have a couple frees and loans if we can keep our best players.

I don't want to get into this again but I think there is a difference between selling someone like Rom and Richarlison. When it is truly a top class player you have trouble finding another.

Meanwhile we need a good 6 players so we are short funds.

What makes the whole Madrid idea weird to me is they really only need a better right winger and Richarlison has largely not played there.

Historically Real have been closely associated with right wingers.

I think we’re mostly resigned to the fact we’ll lose him, because he’s a really good player, much like Rom but in very different ways but most of us want him to stay and you know that.

He disagrees with the general consensus. He would prefer that we sell on and buy some young players to fix our problems.

It's an interesting position since BigIg is an American and surely knows the trade maxim that you never trade a quarter for two dimes and a nickel (meaning you never trade a star for role players), but we're such a mess in so many positions that it's not an unreasonable assessment of where the club is at.

We're leaking so many goals that we need to stop the bleeding more than we need to score. We scored four fewer goals (with no DCL) than in the previous season but shipped an extra eighteen. If we fix the defensive issues, at a minimum it's hard so see us getting relegated.

Bale needs a club before the world Cup starts, the talk of Cardiff isn't right, he needs to be playing against top quality opposition so a PL team should take him

Everything about the last paragraph is spot on. And we need about five players imo to fix it all.

So a quarter for five nickels. Football is weird because that actually is probably better. Stars don't usually carry teams all by themselves. And Richarlison isn't even that.
