I mean if we had DCL, Broja, Rondon it is right there.

Mateta scored 7 goals all season, and all but one came from January onwards

Edouard scored 9, 3 of which were for Celtic, and only 2 In 2022, the last of which came against the RS on 23rd January

Benteke scored 4, the last of which was a brace v Burnley……..in November

Spurs have got away without good creativity in the middle of the park because Son is as skilled, pacy, and ruthless on the counter as any player in recent memory- maybe Vardy at his absolute peak. Don’t much need a playmaker to thread passes if every time he picks up a loose ball at the halfway line, Son is odds on to score ten seconds later.

Since we won’t have such a forward I’d still really like a playmaker.

I hoped that Walsh and Brands were going to help us get in early with the latest crops of up-and-coming talent, the way Spurs did with Son, Modric and Bale, but our recruitment never seems to get any better.

Maybe this new fella we've got will surprise me, but I won't be holding my breath.

With this new owner promising massive funds at Chelsea, Richie being link with them can only be a good thing should a bidder war break out.
Personally I have no issue selling him to a CL club - I think he's earned his move and served the club well but I would prefer it to be to a club overseas but take the best offer and if that's someone like Chelsea then so be it, wish him luck and use that money to start to repair the damage of 5 years of mis-management.
