Maybe

But players usually don't change agent because they want a contract extension

Could be a multitude of reasons for changing agents mate, only a couple of agents who when players changed to them it red flagged a transfer (Raiola obv used to be the big one for that )

Tottenham created a fee for Alli that could reach 40 million in add ons depending on success.

Whatever upfront fee we ask for (would personally go no lower upfront that what we paid in total so close to 50) then match that in add ons with atleast 50% of those realistic achievable targets.

If this deal is true, I wonder if it has any connection to the dele deal. (Apologies if this has already been discussed…was too lazy to scroll through previous posts)

Strange on this. As has been atated, would he walk into Spurs' first team? The only reason behind this I can think of is that Kane has a dodgy ankle and they dont want him or he is unable to play every game, considering they have CL too.

Plus obviously he can rotate and cover both wings. That doesnt benefit him in a World Cup year though so he will want to start every game where ever he goes.

Are we extremely desperate for money though?
I wouldn't say so? If we want to make signings, for actual money then we need some coming in.
I might be wrong on my maths here. But we are saving around £30m a year in wages, just by getting rid of the deadwood. Plus any sales that come in and the associated wages from them saved. I also think we can make £20m loss this year and stay within ffp, I think. So no. Not desperate for cash. We just don't have a ton of wriggle room to actually spend a lot on incoming players. We won't make a major signing this summer, no matter what people think. Free/cheap younguns/loans is what we will be doing. At least till next summer when another year of the financial mess in the accounting drops off for ffp purposes.

Not really mate, most players are sold at the price the selling club genuinely values him at.

If players wanting to leave had any real impact on their fee then teams like Madrid, United, Chelsea, Barca and PSG wouldn't constantly be having to pay absolutely top dollar for players as sure as hell the players they want are very much pushing for moves when they know they're interested.

It depends how much the player pushes for the move. In this case, Richarlison wants to leave.

All of those clubs do not just pay what the selling clubs want. Real Madrid negotiated the Tchouameni fee down from what was originally being discussed. Liverpool too with Nunez.

Man United want Frenkie De Jong and Barcelona need to sell him, a little like us with Richarlison. It will be interesting to see what happens there.

Balance that with this then :

Does he want to leave - He hasn’t said anything at all.

The club have told him that they want him to stay, that they want to build the team around him and he’ll be getting a massive bump on his contract. ( this is from someone I know very well, who has business dealings with his agent )

How about wait and see ?

He’s very settled here. That counts for a lot too. Plus time is still on his side.

If settled + big increase then depending on whose in for him it may make more sense for both parties to extend with a release clause after the WC.

I wonder how Lampard would "build the team around him"....any ideas?

Remember when everyone was fine with Gueye leaving because its his 'boyhood team'.

Richy just wants to play in his 'boyhood tournament'.
