2021/22 Richarlison

The fee was £35mil with clauses to potentially take it to £50mil.

No one outside of the club knows what we ended up paying but its likely alot closer to £50mil than £35mil.

Have a peek at how many times those 3 have played together for PSG and how effective theyve been.

Richarlison starts every match for both PSG, Atletico and Madrid.
I'd wager hefty add ons were on Everton getting into Europe, which we haven't done since Richarlison joined.

I watch PSG a lot for work. There's no way if all 3 are fit he starts over all 3 of them. Because they're all world class players and one of them is probably the best player to ever grace the game.

I don't know where he'd fit in Simeone's 352 either tbh but I'm sure he'd do well at Atleti.

He'd be a good option for Real Madrid and Carlo would want him but I just don't think Madrid would be able to sell to their fans going from Haaland/Mbappe to Richarlison, but if Ancelotti got his way I'm sure he'd take Richarlison.

nobody pays that and we almost certainly need to sell a player mate.

For either Richy or Dom, the figures were always going to be crica £50-60m.
We will get 40m for richarlison next Sumer so why sell for 50m now? Especially If he has a good World Cup.

We’re already better off to about 50m with the out of contract players. And moise kean going. I know it’s rumours, but I think we could sell Mina, Allan getting linked back to Italy and Keane to West Ham. I’d even sell Gray for a quick 15m profit of it meant keeping richarlison.

Weren’t we in worse position last summer? And we didn’t sell anyone. Yes to reset we will have to sell a richarlison or DCL or Pickford. But if we aren’t getting the right value I think the club will hold firm.

There are unproven players coming to the PL for well over 50m. So 50m is clearly not the market rate.

Like this lad coming to the reds has barely played any football and has played in a rubbish league. He's going to be more like 70m.

Grealish cost 100m and has a worse goal return and is pretty overrated. He looked massively out of his depth at city.

We need to hold firm on a valuation because other deals have set the market.
Grealish isn't a forward. He's nothing like Richarlison at all is he? He'd also signed a new five-year deal the previous season that had a buy-out clause which is why he cost so much.

I also don't agree he's looked 'out of his depth' at City anymore than Bernardo Silva did in his first season there but that's irrelevant to this conversation.

According to Ornstein, Everton value Richarlison at £60m which, taking everything into account, is probably about right.

Ormstein is a sycophant of the North London clubs mate.

If we sold Richy for a penny less than £75 millions its criminal man.

Pepe and Sancho went for more than that.

Grealish had a release clause. City activated it, that's why he cost so much.

I know, which is another reason it isn’t comparable to Richarlison. Villa were in a strong negotiating position. And that particular buying club always pay a premium on transfers because of who owns them.

Oh mate please stop thinking weird conspiracies.

Arsenal overpaid for Pepe. Dortmund named their price for Sancho, who had scored/assisted up to like 25 goals in each of the last 2-3 seasons.

I love Richarlison. I'm just aware of where we are as a club financially. It all has to be taken into account.

I think if he does go, we should get at least £60m for him. I think that's a fair valuation of his quality. It would also allow us to bring in 4-5 players that are much-needed.

Where we are financially is even more of a reason not to sell for under what he is worth to us though so don’t get your point.

He's not worth £75m though...

As much as I rate him, given his contract situation, the fact we do need a big sale, I just don't think he is actually worth £75m

He scored 10 league goals last season. Would we spend £75m on a player that had scored 10 league goals?

Villa were NOT in a strong postion. They had a £100mil release clause.

Richarlison has NO clause. We DO NOT need to sell.

Of course the Sancho and Pepe deals matter. Those deals set the market and Richarlison is far better than both. The market is set by precedent and if average players cost those fees then so does Richarlison.

Just because other teams overpaid doesn't mean we should accept lower fees. We should demand the same.

The Sancho one i will never get personally. Hes just not very good and never was any good. He stood out there due to it being a 1 team league, just like Lookman stood out too. But the deal was done and the precedent is there.

Everton can name a price for Richarlison as well.
