Probably better to have 5/6 instead of 1 Bayern or PSG

Not if you’re not one of those teams.

If we were in France Germany even Spain some seasons we’d have a chance of CL football if we got a decent team together.

In England you could create a brilliant team with a great manager and still finish 7th. 6 of the richest clubs in the world are in this league with the refs in their pockets, the media interest in the league dependent on them, and every other club financially reliant on them retaining their position.

Only had to see the fall out from the super league, the majority of other clubs pleading for lenient punishment so that their slice of tv money wasn’t affected by a weakened top 6. It’s embarrassing what the league has become.

Waiting for the outrage when we sign a replacement who's scored less than 15 goals in the Prem last season.

That's because we massively overpaid for him + the Marco Silva fall out

At the time I did feel that.

Was proven wrong.

To make such a measly profit, if any, is pretty poor.

But needs must, Everton made themselves vulnerable.

Richarlison wouldn't have rocked the boat for Spurs, in a World Cup year.

If we weren't so inept, we may have had a chance in keeping him if no elite/top clubs come in.

The sooner we get a team in place who can buy well, it'll help us to also sell well.

Yep of course, I meant more as in getting that money in and having it available for transfers etc - no need to spread it over several years or anything.

It was needed. The club are knackered, and that's why the jokers at the top need to go.
I think the sale of the club is for the same reason as the sale of the player....financially necessary.

I hope that the potential buyers have more idea about how to run a club than the present owner and can only hope that Peter Kenyon is somehow involved in the stewardship of the club as at the very least we know he is capable.

Recent events also categorically confirm that the money being spent belonged to Usmanov.

It is clear now that we had to sell before midnight.

I’m sure our accredited scouting network have suitably identified a replacement who matches his ethic and output

What over priced PL player will they have their sights on
If you just look at stats alone Spurs have paid way too much. Just over ten Prem goals averaged over four seasons.

It’s ok the buy players young, develop them and then sell for a profit.

As long as you replace them well of course .

But it’s bad when you sell them to a club you wanted to compete with a couple of years ago.

Buy well and this isn’t a bad deal all round.

There's no way on gods earth that Richarlison's value at Watford is the same or comparable as it should be now.

What's your point? His cost was inflated because he was 21 but he's now 25?

At 21, nobody knew how good he could possibly be. His price tag was because he was so young and had the potential to develop into a world class player.

At 25, after 6 seasons in the Premier League, everybody now has a good idea of Richys ability. He is very good but is not going to make a huge leap.

He isn't going to suddenly go from 10 goals a season to 20+ goals a season. He can be an important team player and will help Spurs but I am not expecting him to compete for the golden boot. He will probably score 10-12 again for Spurs next season.

Yes, I am sure they do, but for every Mane, Son and Salah that made the step up, there are several more who did not.

Mkhitaryan, Pepe, Martial, Robinho, Ziyech, Lamela, Sancho (so far) etc, the list goes on.

But market value & player prices are not based on failed players, else why do the prices keep going up !?!

I’d hope now we have someone in with a better clue that we’ll get some value, the lad at Hull seems the fit but not at the price they quoted

I will miss Richarlison. Gave his best. I think I'm not angry if Richarlison leaves. I honestly think Richarlison could move to a even bigger club. Maybe there wasn't a solid interest but I thought if everyone would've waited - a bigger club would come for him.

I'm more pissed at it might only be for 50mil + 10mil add on. Perhaps the threat of FFP is more serious than what was led on by the club.

I am aware there are financial issues which the club has to address and the £60m for Richy reported by the Red Echo today must be to offset some of these issues. I don't pretend to know what the club's financial state is, but I am living in the hope that the imminent buyout will be a turning point and move the club in an upwards direction. How Lampard keeps us up in the absence of goals is beyond me. Gordon is hopeless in that respect and there is no one else on the books apart from Dom. I guess urgent recruitment of goal scorers at low cost will be the order of the day.
