The bit where it say’s “Talk continuing over final price” translates to:

“£50m upfront and £10m add ons minus £30m upfront for Deli and £10m add ons identical to the Richy ones”

“Now, as for Winks it’s £20m up front and call it quits”

“Oh, and Everton pull those pants back up, it’s not a good look”

I feel sick.

Quick Ev, go and spend £80m on Denis and Cornet

That’ll do the job

This is the problem now. We have a big fee and will see the prices for players we were interested in creep up too.

Dennis and Cornet could have been signed for little over £40m. That will now edge toward £50m, which writes off the Richy deal.

Sky saying the club were under pressure to sell before midnight tonight and needed the money, indicates we probably do not have all of the £50m to reinvest in players anyway.

Likely no immediate ‘ins’ if the deadline is true. Hopefully this fends off any punishment or claims from other clubs. Perhaps the Prem have demanded this to put us in the clear

We need to close off the accounts by tonight to give us a bit of wiggle room for the rest of the window

If we go and spend any money on Cornet or Denis I’m done

Not exactly, as long as money is in by midnight that deadline is reached and a new period starts tomorrow so we can spend it….. although it’s just kicking the can down the road and none of us know the actual state we are in financially.

Spurs fan here. To the sensible and what looks like the vast majority of you, fair play. You are wishing the guy well and no bitterness whatsoever from you. I signed up, as was interested in our incoming signing Richarlison and wanted to discuss his strengths, weaknesses etc, but I’ll have to say there is 1 or 2 really bitter users on here, notably the Spurs hater ( strange to hate us more than Liverpool)

. He has signed for Spurs because we are a CL club, with a magnificent stadium and coached by one of the best managers in Europe. We have been in the champions league for 3 seasons in 5. We are constantly in Europe. We regularly fight for a top 4. We have made plenty of major finals, but unfortunately haven’t got over the line, but this is all irrelevant. Wether you like to admit it or not, Richarlison signing for Spurs is a big step up. You take the piss out of our trophy spell. Our last was 2008. Yours was 1995. Can understand you being disappointed, but the bitterness and belittling of our club when let’s be fair, you could only dream of what we have currently.

This isn’t to the vast majority of you by the way. I just read a few comments whilst signing in and felt the need to respond
His strengths are his workrate and how that benefits the team. He can score around 10 a season in a poor team like ours, so I'd expect 15+ for Spurs. His weaknesses include poor finishing and his theatrics. That's one thing I will be glad to see the back of.

As for your other comment, I agree entirely about where you are currently. A few levels above Everton and our fans need to accept that.

That being said, I suspect the lack of respect you receive from our support and also other clubs fans is because you will never be taken seriously as a top club whilst you have a laughable league title haul to your name. It must be the worst, or at least one of, for all the so called super clubs in Europe. And it's not just that, it's how long ago you did it. How many on here will have known Everton as the top club in the land compared with Spurs?

You haven't won a league title for over 60 years and until you change that you will never get the respect your fans crave, not just from Evertonians, but many other fanbases.

At the time I did feel that.

Was proven wrong.

To make such a measly profit, if any, is pretty poor.

But needs must, Everton made themselves vulnerable.

Richarlison wouldn't have rocked the boat for Spurs, in a World Cup year.

If we weren't so inept, we may have had a chance in keeping him if no elite/top clubs come in.

The sooner we get a team in place who can buy well, it'll help us to also sell well.
The fact he turned out well for us doesn’t necessarily mean you were wrong to think we overpaid. We probably did but got away with it. And the fact the profit now is meagre is as much a result of that initial overpaying as it is what we are receiving now.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him force himself into the XI for Spurs. Suits Conte so well and he's forced himself into being a preferred option for perhaps the most talented international attacking force at the moment.

We really do need to get his replacement right as he was absolutely massive for us both on and off the pitch.
