Riots in the UK...

If thats correct then why the difference between the 2 areas?

Yes you can say its very misguided but its not like it was planned over years, it was a sponteaneous reaction to years of (what they see) of neglect, racism, poverty and generally feeling like no one but people in the same boat really give a **** about them.

And eventually somethings gonna give.

And just so no one jumps in, i'm not condoning these riots in any way, just trying to understand them and explain them from others point of view.

You don't spontaneously smash shop windows in mate, you think about it first, you go and get something to do it with. They have reasons for being peeved but those reasons are not enough. There simply is no fathomable excuse for this. They don't live in the third world, these are not homeless people that are rioting. Their definition of oppressed and in poverty isn't good enough.

Mate, I hear it all the time here..

The white man holds the black man down etc, etc.

Truth is the one's pulling the race card have criminal records and dropped out of school, white/black/yellow/green it will be tough getting a decent job if not downright impossible with those things working against you.

Stay in school, obey the law and the sky's the limit. FACT

Most teenagers I know feel that way, that always have done ffs. Then you learn to work hard in order to improve your quality of life. Not throw bricks at the authorities, set buildings on fire and assault ordinary citizens when transparently doing your actions for pure greed.

[Poor language removed] them. Kick their heads in of them, their parents and those who sympathise with them.

My fiance has just made me genuinely laugh for the first time in six years ^^

She did these last night whilst watching the news and browsing the Liverpool Facebook Riots pages.

LEAVE THE BASMATI ALONE FFS.

It's a versatile foundation for delicious meals.

Im astounded by the amount of people on twitter saying that carrying a loaded gun (and we dont know yet if he was waving it around) does not entitle you to be shot out. Mind boggling.

According to them we have to wait for him to start shooting first. Crazy.

I will answer my own question and rewrite my post

Wolverhampton by the looks of it then

I meant they didn't just start rioting one day caused they felt like it, its something which built and built.

And fair enough if you don't agree with their reasons, sure they could be worse off but its never that simple is it.

Yeah i can't disagree with that but again its not always that simple.

For instance why did they drop out of school and get criminal records when a richer more affluent teenager doesn't? If (and its a big if) a young poor black man gets treated like a criminal even though he has comitted no crime isn'ty he more likely to then think "**** it" and act like one?

To be honest ive read some good stuff in the past regarding peoples psychological make ups, stuff like is a criminal unemployed because he's a criminal, or is he a criminal because he's unemployed and all the outside influences which can affect a person which aren't obvious to outsiders.

Its never as simple as people like to make out and it often frustrates me how people are quick to judge others from what they see and what they do without trying to understand the reasons why they do it.

And yeah that sounds like a bunch of hippy crap but i think this world would be a better place if we all tried to understand and learn what makes people how they are.

It comes down to the law of minimum force - that is did the Police feel their life or the life of the public was in danger, and did they use the minimum amount of force necessary to remove that threat, that can be justified in a court of law.

If that minimum force means shooting dead someone to remove the threat - then so be it, but the Police will have to justify their actions in a court of law.

Mate I'm no stranger to hard times.. When I was 18, my gramma got me a bus ticket for Ohio from florida, I had no cash, no food for 3 days on that ride up, no education because I dropped out of high school and chose a life of drugs.

I chose to get my diploma, I chose to join the Army, I chose to go to college.. I could have easily chose crime but I didn't.
Simple as that.

There's plenty of people I know who have been born into very poor areas, been a single parent family, on benefits and every other statistic the media can throw about that have gone on to make a good life for themselves. Many on here will be the same. If anything it gives you an advantage as you tend to be a bit more tenacious and hard working than Johnny Eton.

The stuff that's going on now is the insolent way, pure sh*thouse behaviour. Like I said they've been brought up on laptops and iPhones off Santa and all they want so when they turn 18 and have to earn it for themselves they don't want to. All it needs is hard work but they don't want that.

Again, don't politicise it or add social/economic backgrounds. It's bullsh*t. I want to see them get some sense and respect knocked into them with much haste.
