I think that's how I read it. And from what we have seen of him it makes a lot more sense he was worried the remarks were being presented as direct criticism

But he said Baines had been misquoted and apologised. He obviously wasn't misquoted so someone is telling porkies

Oh I mean we would get rid if he was rubbish, actually no i'm sure on that we would actually, but just the initial LOL's of everyone hating Martinez and a new manager being even worse would be quite something to behold.
