We have a busy month ahead, we have 9 games in 5 weeks. Sacking a manager in the middle of that could improve the team, or it can disjoint them, more so than it is at the minute, but I can tell you now, he's not going to be sacked before the cup game, I'd almost put money on it, even if we lose every game, which isn't going to happen, but I'm pretty sure they're giving him a chance to win the FA Cup at the very least
Mate i don't think the club will sack him anyway even if we lost every game between now and the end of the season.

But no, he won't be sacked your right, call it over reaction on my part, but to be fair i wanted him sacked last march so my stance won't change whether it happens now or christmas. the other point i would want to see is the club actually look for a new manager, sacking him now wouldn't get that other than righting the season off from this point on. Be good if we sacked him end of season, and took a couple weeks at least to identify and approach a replacement, otherwise it would be eddie howe rolling into town.

this is what I don't get. WHY wouldn't they sack him before the cup match? Pep Guardiola said 'defending is the coaches job, attacking is the players instincts' or to that effect. If you believe his words, then that means Martinez has done pretty much f-all for our squad.
that paraphrase is true to a certain extent, but if you were to take it as gospel, then that's just folly. If that was the case then Guardiola and Tony Pulis would have the same job as manager, but Pulis would rather a game end 0-0 than a 5-4 win

I guess the timing of the parting is likely going to be at seasons end. It is very depressing to think that our potential success in cup and league matches to the season's end is really dependent on the oppositions failings rather than our ability to overcome them. Plan B doesnt exist and plan A isnt working. Here's hoping for opposition off days!

But it's his job to motivate them ffs.

Coming out with yet another lame (and factually sparse) comment about the other cup SF teams not winning last weekend, was dredging the barrel in terms of excuses. The fact that we lost to our potential SF opponents also made it laughable.

That on top of throwing Baines under the bus for having the temerity to state the obvious, made it a shocking day for him today.

He's swinging and missing like a pissed up auld tramp. It's got Brendan Rodgers last days written all over it.
Thought it was just average but there you go.
Motivation wise if players were running on adrenalin as Everton and Watford in particular were then your body can react. Motivation won't matter. Not an excuse just something that occurred to me after a performance that was way below par for this team

No not really. If you (or he) say the players are flat after a cup win then what was the excuse before that?
I don't think they've been as flat before but you are obviously going to disagree which is why I thought you were making a point rather than asking a question.

I'm changing my vote today. Off the fence and with the plotters.

Off to go pick me up some of these:
