Mental Patient, GOT Ward
Comparing ourselves with Geordies has become a bit of a fad on GOT at the moment. Who gives a poo about the Geordies like.

Not for us it doesn't. We generally give managers 3-4 years. Look over the record books. That's ample time for improvements. Moyes and Kendall were the exception, not the rule. If we'd have had someone with more ambition than Bill then Moyes wouldn't have got as long as he did maybe. Also he's had the "more time" already after the shambles that was last season. There is only so much time you can give someone before you realize it isn't getting any better. Even this scintillating attacking football we were known for has died on it's backside now.Although there is evidence that changing managers leads to further problems more often than not.
It has a tendency to gloss over other issues that need sorting
Load of fuss over nothing.
If you look at the substance there's not much difference between what he said and what most others say about the current situation. An exciting squad that needs to look more like a team.
Problem is that Martinez is supposed to come up with soundbite answers to the problem when he knows there isn't one. Other managers do that a lot better. But not sure if that's what we should be judging on.
Bored of the Baines stuff as I think the spin put on it won't pan out. I think what Baines said was spot on and made it clear it was a collective thing to make this happen. He didn't say they don't get on off the pitch or there are any rifts.
The tone of the reporting was very different and for that reason it ended up as an issue at the press conference. Not made one by Martinez. It maybe could have been stonewalled and then I'm sure we'd have had all sorts of conjecture. His wording wasn't great but if Leighton apologised he obviously felt responsible for how the press used what he said. No blame on him for me and really only a suggestion from the manager that he needs to be more careful. And I think he was only using that as a way of sniping at the press. Not ideal but not a sign of any rift between him and the player who have dealt with it like adults in my opinion.
You two will enjoy your conversations togetherLikewise.
1: Baines spoke to the press. His words were somewhat misinterpreted and he apologised to the group for putting himself a position where this could happen.
Absolutely spot on for me that. If Baines had done this in another job he would be facing disciplinary action.
2: Martinez simply fielded all the questions and said that we shouldnt just be focusing on the Cup but also the league.
Correct, yet heads have been turned perhaps and Watford actually have had a worse set of results than us after their semi but their manager hasnt been villified.
3-- Put into context, we have lost to Man Utd, Arsenal and were very unlucky against West Ham. Hardly the stuff of nightmares.
I feel its just another excuse by some to make a mountain out of a molehill and actually becoming really boring now which i think reflects more on people themselves than the actual events at the club.
When you have posters posting Martinez comments in every different thread here it also makes it hard to read through the constant nonsense and i dont envy the mods having to go through it all due to the same posters off topic remarks.
Tiring really...
The final stages of deflection from a desperate man. Worst thing that happened to him was Mr Moshiri. Finally, after nearly two decades, we are about to get accountability at the Everton FC."This team has loads of chemistry. It has got an understanding between players that allows them to play in the way we have this season ... it’s clear in the last two or three games we haven’t reached the level we are supposed to have." R. Martinez
The last two or three games. I used to find Martinez's positivity refreshing, but he really is starting to sound delusional. Then there's this: "We have 15, 16 individuals who have had impressive campaigns." Mind-boggling levels of pure frigging hokum.
i think you're interpretation is totally wrong but the only real way we will know is by seeing what happens on the pitch in the next week or so.Likewise.

A lot like that long essay of nonsense you just wrote. Your lack of ambition for this club to push on certainly isn't affecting you. If you get your wish and the manager is still in charge next December at least people will still be responding to your posts .Likewise.

More often than not? Really? I would say there's bountiful evidence that you are wrong there.Although there is evidence that changing managers leads to further problems more often than not.

Unlucky against West Ham? Must have missed that one. What I saw was poor substitutions and shambolic defending which fits in with what has gone on all season.Likewise.

12th in the league and the worst home record in living memory, that is the stuff of nightmares given the squad at this fellas disposal.Likewise.
