Roberto Martinez plans to prove to the fans he’s the right man for
Everton.
Boss Martinez has come under fire this season following a season of under-achievement in the Premier League.
Despite a star-studded squad, the Toffees are nearer the drop zone than the European qualification places with eight matches to go.
Martinez
has taken them to
the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Capital One Cup, but knows he still needs to convince the supporters he can take their team forward.
“I need to show that," said the Spaniard. "I’m not someone who is going to come up with excuses.

But Martinez - looking to end a run of three straight league defeats
at potential FA Cup final opponents Watford on Saturday – is not panicking.

He added: “Romelu has been a success story. He is on a long-term contract. It’s not that we are going to lose him on a free.
"Ideally we want to keep Romelu for the long term, because we want to be in the Champions League as well.
