...it's an interesting thread innit, genuinely never known a manager throw up so much - well, not 'divide' as such - let's say 'differing of opinion' for a long time, and I think a LOT of that's to do with the fact that you simply just don't know what you're gonna get with EVERTON these days. Though, granted, we seem to be pretty consistently dire at most stuff at the minute. And he's just a big ball of Spanish contradiction and fluff for the most. He's deffo stirred the pot, I'll give him that like...but by doing so I feel he further isolates himself as the weeks tick by now.

There's a lot of passion and anger involved on here at times as well, guilty of it meself on occasion, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, show's we're arsed I suppose.

I'm in a weird place with it all at the moment. I very much want him gone, sooner rather than, yet I feel somehow a bit sorry for him because he seems to be paddling in waters way too deep for him...I'm looking forward to the semi despite being more hopeful than confident about it, yet I'm now dreading our league games HUGELY, all of them...and I don't want us to become a 'club in turmoil' kinda news thing yet I DO want it noted that all isn't well...

Strange times indeed, we sit where we sit in the table with little hope for improvement, we have the striker we always craved...and we have a billionaire owner and are in a semi-final...yet the discontent is massive and that's all down to one man. Weird...

Haha. That's a very well worded post. Best thing I've read on here for years. :bye:

Mate that's a horribly depressing way of looking at football. We are 12th and should be happy cause that's what our teams worth. No other circumstances matter. If I saw things that black and white I wouldn't support club football.

But is it is our team 12th best in financial power? Our two strikers are worth a combined 40 million. He inherited a squad of players worth tens of millions, Baines, Coleman, Mirallas to name a few. I am.too lazy to research right now but I'm sure our team is backed better than some teams ahead of us.

Put another way...1st season new manager...

2nd season 11th (and thats when i started to see a lot of holes in the squad after the 1st season surprise)....this season i predicted 8th or 9th based on the numbers really and players still missing from the squad we need to be serious.

i think if we had a GK/CM/LW who were all top 4 level we would have been up there this season but we dont so here we are.

Howard cost us so many points on one end and also McCarthy being out cost us as well...just those two alone probably cost us 3 or 4 places.

Well said mate.
The cure? Six months into the reign of a top class Manager and us flying in the League.
Roberto will be but a memory...

Nah, just suggesting the poll results might not be a true reflection. And at other times, certain posts and conversations may be made that are also not a true reflection.

I think he's on borrowed time, but I don't think it would do us many favours to sack him in the morning mate.

I'd say the vast majority of goodison is a true reflection. Our manager likes to blame the fans but they haven't just decided to become anxious of this team, it's come from an atrocious approach and poor management which has filtered to the crowd

...and, again mate, it was the MANAGER who quite blindly kept picking HOWARD ergo he is responsible for that. He is a manager who failed miserably to manage that situation.

We let him off that for far too long, but at the same time Robles hasn't set the world alight either. He should have signed someone new last summer.

Well on the financial backed theory we are doing better than 12th, this has been put to light to me.

Wages.

But even.if we where 12th circumstances are much more complicated than that.

I think you predicting 8th or 9th had a lot to do with expectations being lowered consciously or subconsciously. If we built on the Moyes 5th hybrid season or atleast finished in same spot I couldn't imagine you predicting that.

I agree we needed a new keeper 2 years ago and or atleast dropped Howard and I agree we'd be a little higher points wise but thats all on Martinez and it doesn't ultimately excuse his crap tactics, team selections and substitutions. We'd still fall victim to underachieving despite a prober keeper winning extra points.
