Martinez can charm a snake. Nice bloke but his management skills are lacking. Should stick to commentating or director of football jobs. Just cant hack it with fans and media as manager. Has the ability to confuse, anger and insult fans in equal measure with his press conferences. The breath of fresh air and relief when he goes will be emense. The club is bigger than Martinez and he has shown hes out of his depth.

Bloody hell.

Just had half an ear on Collymore introducing his show on TS.

"Everton fans, another lead thrown away. What do you think now? Ive been told De Boer. What are your thoughts?"
Interesting that he would say that as it means 2 things, 1 that we've already decided on RM's future and 2 a potential successor.

But as a club we're usually very tight with what information is 'leaked'

But TBF to SC he usually gets things like this right. Especially when he goes so public.

I've noticed a change of attitude with press and media over the past few weeks towards Martinez. Up until very recently they all generally followed a similar line - " Martinez is a bright young manager, plays football the right way, it'll all come together, just needs time etc etc ".

Just a thought, you mention De Boer, could it be that whoever was keeping the press and media off his back has now given them permission to start putting the boot in with a view to a new manager coming in ?

Ps - I don't believe in conspiracy theories !

But the end is nigh.

I am convinced he will not be in charge at The Pit......or even Saints at home next week.

Thing is Khal, he should have been gone immediately after the Arsenal game.
At least we'd have had two weeks before going to OT and that little bit of time for an interim manager could have worked wonders in time for the Derby and semi.

Then kindly elaborate what is "mewling quims" which you accused me of.

#57 and #66

And you call me a hidden kopite.

Afterthat you said whinging fanny which I don't understand what it is nor you have given any explanation on the material day.

As a foreigner, if a guy on the street come across (forum in this case) and say sth like "mewling quims" (ping pong din dong etc) to me I will feel offended. Are you trying to make fun of me because of the language I speak?

I don't want to get ban from this thread so I will cease to talk about this. Back to the topic. Oh and I am not a hidden kopite (according to you).

English is not my first language so I have tried my best to explain.

Higher ground and blindly support is not the same as calling people Kopites or saying others want Everton to lose is it?

My opinions are:

Higher ground - Some of them may not think it is an honour thing to do as Everton do not just sack manager this way.
Blindly support - 21 wins out of 69 league matches. 14th in the league. Ok if this isn't bad enough and finding tons of excuses for Martinez I think it's blindly support.

Calling others Kopites, accusing one wants Everton to lose and not winning the FA Cup - tell me based on what?
I love you.

I was calling for him (Martinez not Davek) to be realised at the end of last season. All the reasons for saying what I said last May have continued or developed further. We have been in a steady decline in footballing terms for two years. What we are witnessing now is not a sudden or temporary loss of form, it's the result of two years of mismanagement of many of our players, tactics, and training, creating a team of talented individuals playing like shadows of what they can be, some unfit, all devoid of belief and spirit.

Given the resources to be made available to us and the expectations ahead of us Martinez' position is untenable. Ridiculously we now find ourselves in a loss limitation exercise when we should have been competing alongside Leicester, Spurs and West Ham.

The cup run is a welcome relief, a trip to Wembley, hopefully two trips and silverware will be fantastic but that cannot disguise the erosion of what we had on the pitch and sadly Martinez' inability to arrest the decline.

I cant recall the exact exchange we had at the Spurs match about 10 minutes before Kane totally predictably nodded in a cross from our left hand side, but along the lines of you digging me in the ribs and saying, "Do you think he has noticed that space out there?"

I, again totally predictably, polished my glasses and noticed said space.

Was like the outfield at Lord's.

I would prefer him to go before the semi-final, not out of spite, but because I do not believe he can manage this team any more.
Who would you assign as caretaker manager I'm interested to know your opinion.

Personally I'd allow royle and Ferguson to take it until we get a big name in, royles experience fergusobs authority and knowledge of new / modern coaching should be enough to see us through imo

I would sack him now if I could but I think he will have to lose the semis for moshiri to be allowed to do so.

How do you mean "allowed".

If he wants to fire him no one will be able to stop him even if they wanted to.....which I am willing to bet they don't.

In many ways, Mr. Mo being there makes it easier for our nominal Chairman to fire him as he can do a Pontious Pilate.

Wash his hands and blame the new honcho.
