I was only a young kid when Walter Smith was sacked, and not even one when a Walker was. Was the hate for a manager as much as this?

Everyone seemed really angry before and obviously after the game on Saturday.

The short answer is NO. No other manager during the time I have watched has ever got the club down to this level of despair.

Smith yes, that Boro performance was probably the worst I have ever seen and I was convinced (in the same way as 97/98) that we were going down. I was at university when Walker got sacked so don't know about that, though it probably helped that there was an obvious candidate to replace him.

Even though I was only 9 at the time I don't think that Boro performance was as bad as Wednesday night.

This is the angriest I can remember fans being from Walker, Smith, Moyes and Martinez. I remember though some kind of protest after Spurs game years ago but I can't remember what for and when it was but stuff was getting thrown at the main stand outside

Just shows how the board is clueless. Whats the point in delaying the inevitable. We are safe with nothing to play for. Those players thinking of leaving might be persuaded to stay if they know someone new is coming as with season ticket holders. I for one are sick of the wait. Do it now Kenwight and Moshri you know it makes sense. Put the clown and the fans out of our misery

It's different this time round in so may ways, Smith had a terrible squad, and made it even worse, I don't really remeber it that well but the expectations weren't exactly high. This man has dragged the whole club down slowly into the muck, Moyes left on a sour note, but he still left us in a good state, it's gonna take a while to recover from the Martinez era.

The weird one with Martinez too is that he managed to David Blaine us into thinking he was doing a good job for ages when we were mediocre, the premiership isn't even that good quality wise, and it's only in the last few months fans (including me) are waking up to how big an opportunity we've missed out on here, that's what's making everyone angry. Leicester aren't helping either, the plebs.

I remember the fume being intense after Moyes lost the semi against that awful Liverpool team. Then we went a drew 4-4 at old Trafford and looked awesome. We always seemed to bounce back with Moyes to some extent.
