Why do they deserve empty seats? If there's guna be protests then people will want to go the game

Evertonian's don't do protest, it's kopite / Geordie behaviour apparently. In other words, we just show apathy, towards everything, apart from of course bitterness to our more successful and more ambitious neighbours from the same city, we are world leaders in that department.

People not going will possibly show the apathy and lack of interest, which is now further heightened by the way the board have once again underperformed this week.

Not so much.

When a person like the esk states something as categoric and doesn't use words such as could / should / maybe / it's possible and repeatedly uses the same careful language it's reasonable to suppose that what he is expressing is not an opinion but the facts.

Presumably the person who knows him best on this site is G O T who's said at least a couple of times that his opinion is at variance with this, it's confusing at the least.

There's very little absolutes in football. A fact today, is a maybe tomorrow morning and a never happening tomorrow afternoon.

GrandOldTeam's moderators are also not a political party, and shock, horror - have their own opinions.

I didn't actually say @GrandOldTeam is correct and I agree with him...just that as he explained himself well and I can understand his take on the situation.

I personally think they may both be correct.

I believe that as @The Esk says, the Board or Mr Moshiri are actively speaking to top end Managers they would like to employ, but unless they get the right man for the position, are prepared to go again with Roberto rather than a Manager that doesn't appeal. Hence the non sacking this week which would seem to be the right time if they were adamant to get rid of Martinez.

Good point this kithnou, I would rather Martinez stay than take Hughes, Moyes, Howe but I don't believe he will stay and I do believe we will get a top class manager. I agree with what Esk has been saying. Suicide for Everton any other way.

The first part of your comment is correct, but there's no suggestion that Martinez would stay in the absence of a "suitable" candidate. The club will find a suitable and very high quality replacement, we are offering a compelling proposition.

The club would need to slap me with a banning order if Hughes was allowed anywhere near our club.

I think @Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian nailed it here.

Everton are a closed shop these days, and have been for years.

Moshiri is exhibit 1. Everyone was saying the Americans was a done deal, then out of nowhere - Moshiri.

I don't have any insider information, I'm just presenting my own opinion on things, just like everyone else is. My comments don't deserve or warrant any greater scrutiny than any other fan.

Yes good to remember the 'glass half full perspective' :-)

Niasse isnt a young player though.

Hes also barely played. The signs dont look good admittedly but im going to judge his worth once he actually gets some game time.

Im not convinced how solid the side was that he was left. It did a job for years but look at the stalwarts of that squad who served Moyes well. We had no club captain after Neville went, no serviceable strikers at the club, a defence which never turned up when it mattered most (been like this for years) and the likes Osman, Hibbert, Howard and Pienaar had all aged to the point of not really being useable options. Most of our good players these days are Martinez players though of course its fair to say he is not getting the best out of them.

I do think the job Martinez had on when he joined us was a lot lot bigger than some people realize as the previous eras squad had stagnated.

The old saying is `if it isnt broken dont fix it` Martinez had a good squad, that is what gave him a great first season

He then destroyed it by using his Wigan back room staff, falling out with Distin and the team doc, bringing in Alcaraz and his Wigan specialists as replacements.

The amount of hamstring injuries are alarming, he admitted not practising set pieces. Barklay and Coleman look shadows of their former selves

Howard was clearly done yet he insisted on playing him, even after Robles had some great performances.

Lukaku lately reminds me of Kevin Campbell/ Yakubu left alone up front disjointed from the midfeild

The one player who gave his all and loved Everton he sold and bought a turkey .... for 13.5 million ....

And then we have the media interviews where he believes he has taken us forward and we are better off for his philosophy ...

The table does not lie, Martinez has recorded our lowest points in our history we have headed backwards alarmingly under his management
Yet he fails to see this ` judge me over 3 years` ..... I would love him to explain what he means by this statement
